Abstract

Przedmiotem wynalazku jest sposób otrzymywania tereftalanu bis(2-etyloheksylu) mającego zastosowanie jako plastyfikator tworzyw sztucznych. Sposób otrzymywania tereftalanu bis(2-etyloheksylu) w procesie bezpośredniej estryfikacji charakteryzuje się tym, że do reaktora wprowadza się kwas tereftalowy i alkohol 2-etyloheksylowy oraz kwaśny katalizator. Proces estryfikacji prowadzi się w temperaturze nie przekraczającej 170°C, przy czym alkohol 2-etyloheksylowy dodaje się w nadmiarze do 60% w stosunku do jego ilości stechiometrycznej. Zawartość kwaśnego katalizatora w mieszaninie reakcyjnej w stosunku do kwasu tereftalowego wynosi od 0,1 do 30% wag. Proces estryfikacji prowadzi się pod ciśnieniem atmosferycznym lub pod obniżonym ciśnieniem z ciągłym usuwaniem wody reakcyjnej i pełnym powrotem alkoholu 2-etyloheksylowego, a otrzymany surowy tereftalan bis(2-etyloheksylu) poddawany jest przemywaniu, neutralizacji, destylacji, procesowi odbarwiania i filtracji.The present invention relates to a process for preparing bis (2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate for use as a plasticizer in plastics. The method of obtaining bis (2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate in a direct esterification process is characterized by the fact that terephthalic acid and 2-ethylhexyl alcohol and an acid catalyst are introduced into the reactor. The esterification process is carried out at a temperature not exceeding 170 ° C, with 2-ethylhexyl alcohol added in excess of 60% relative to its stoichiometric amount. The acid catalyst content of the reaction mixture relative to terephthalic acid is from 0.1 to 30% by weight. The esterification process is carried out at atmospheric pressure or under reduced pressure with continuous removal of reaction water and full return of 2-ethylhexyl alcohol, and the obtained crude bis (2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate is subjected to washing, neutralization, distillation, discoloration and filtration.
