Abstract

A washing machine comprises a generally cylindrical drum having a substantially closed back face 7, a front opening 8 and an axis inclined to the horizontal about which the drum is rotatable. The drum includes a plurality of outlets 5 provided on the back face of the drum generally around the outer circumference of the back face. At least one of which outlets is below the height of the front opening for any angular position of the drum. A water collector 14 is for collecting water discharged through the outlets, and the collected water is dispensed through a fixed outlet.
