Oppfinnelsen angår en kontinuerlig fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av ekspanderbare styrenpolymerisater ved polymerisasjon av styren i nærvær av drivmidler i tre trinn: a) for-polymerisasjon av styrenet i masse, b) dispergering av for-polymerisatet i en vandig fase og c) ferdigpolymerisering av for-polymerisatet i vandig suspensjon.
