Abstract

The sunken ship indicator buoy with boat mooring line has a plastics foam filled GRP float (10) supporting a metal casing (15) for the reel and line connecting the buoy to a ship. The boat mooring line (30) is stowed in a recess (32) with a textile or plastic cover (40). The cover is secured by a "Velcro" (RTM) closure and is opened when the buoy has risen clear of the rigging by pulling on a release wire (44) running from cover upper edge to a reel on deck.
