Abstract
The powder falls through a central inlet pipe at the top of a vertical column, and the inlet is surrounded by a hot gas, esp. steam, ring nozzle so that the powder fans out into the zone filled with droplets of pref. lecitten emulsifier in aq. soln. sprayed upwards from near the top of the column. The control powder falls onto a perforated hopper at the base, leading to a powder outlet valve, and through that hopper wall cooling air is passed upwards, forming a fluidized bed, and is extracted with the excess steam through a side port halfway up the column. Clogging is prevented.
