Abstract

1279799 Mixing &c FULLER CO 19 April 1971 [25 March 1970] 21234/71 Heading B1C In apparatus for blending dry pulverulent material comprising a chamber 27 having an inlet and an outlet 12, 15, a gas permeable wall 18 through which fluidizing gas is supplied to the chamber, and a hollow column 21, gas at a velocity greater than that of the fluidizing gas is supplied to the bottom of the column through pipes 24. In a modification an outlet for continuous discharge is formed in the upper part of the side-wall 14 of the chamber and a valve 16 in the outlet 15 is opened for removal of oversized material. In modified apparatus, in which the wall 18 is a sloping trough, cylindrical columns of different heights each have a pipe 24. The columns may be perforated.
