Abstract

Prodn. of a continuous impregnated ion-selective membrane with >=2 continuous junctions and constructed in laminated form is by: (a) forming the core of the measuring electrode by compressing an active material, e.g. the dispersion of pptes. at a relatively low pressure (ca. 2000-3000 atm.), (b) applying a pressure of ca. 10,000 atm. to press an active material, dispersed in an epoxy resin mixed with 20 wt.% of crosslinking materials and catalyst, onto the core, in such a way that a continuous junction is produced between the core and the layer surrounding it apart from the sensing surface, (c) forming a space in the layer surrounding the core for the reception of the potential discharge electrode, the glass tube contng. the standard soln., and (d) placing the glass tube in the space with epoxy resin contng. a suitable dispersed ppte. and subsequently fixing the block so formed to the wall of the measuring electrode by cross-linking epoxy resin, mixed with 20 wt.% of the dispersion of an active material, the internal cavity of the measuring electrode then being filled with a material which ensures a continuous impregnation e.g. a silicone oil.
