Abstract

A RAIL PAD (9) TO ELECTRICALLY AND DYNAMICALLY INSULATE THE RAIL (7) FROM THE RAIL TIE (8). FORCE ATTENUATION IS INCREASED BY PROVIDING A FLEXIBLE, RESILIENT PAD AT LEAST 7.5MM THICK WITH GROOVES ORRECESSES (15, 16) IN AT LEAST ONE SURFACE WHICH HAVE A DEPTH OF AT LEAST 55% OF THE PAD THICKNESS.(FIG 1)
