Abstract

La presente invencion proporciona metodos para el tratamiento o prevencion de una infeccion viral, bacteriana o fungica utilizando un polimero a base de acrilico o celulosa anionica, un profarmaco del mismo, o una sal farmaceuticamente aceptable de dicho polimero a base de celulosa anionica o polimero a base de acrilico o profarmaco de cualquiera. La presente invencion tambien proporciona composiciones farmaceuticas que comprenden un polimero a base de acrilico o celulosa anionica, un profarmaco del mismo, o una sal farmaceuticamente aceptable de dicho profarmaco o polimero a base de celulosa anionica. La presente invencion ademas proporciona terapias de combinacion para el tratamiento o prevencion de una infeccion viral, bacteriana o fungica utilizando un polimero a base de acrilico o celulosa anionica, un profarmaco del mismo, o una sal farmaceuticamente aceptable de dicho polimero a base de acrilico o a base de celulosa anionica o profarmaco de cualquiera y uno o mas agentes anti-infectivos. La presente invencion tambien proporciona polimeros a base de acrilico o celulosa anionica inventivos que pueden utilizarse en los metodos composiciones farmaceuticas y terapias de combinacion anteriormente mencionadas. Aquellos polimeros a base de acrilico o celulosa anionica inventivos se dispersan molecularmente y se disocian mayormente en una solucion acuosa a pH variando de aproximadamente 3 a aproximadamente 14.
