Abstract

Esta invencion proporciona celulas recombinantes, mezclas de reaccion y metodos que son utiles para la sintesis enzimaticas de productos sacaridos. Las celulas recombinantes contienen un gen heterologo que codifica a una glicosiltransferasa que cataliza al menos una etapa de la sintesis enzimatica, asi como un sistema para la generacion de un azucar nucleotido que puede servir como un substrato para la glicosiltransferasa. Las celulas recombinantes, mezclas de reaccion y los metodos son utiles para la sintesis eficiente de una gran variedad de sacaridos, incluyendo polisacaridos, oligosacaridos, glicoproteinas y glicolipidos utilizando materiales de inicio de relativo bajo costo.
