Abstract

Se describen sistemas y métodos para incrementar la resolución geoespacial de información de tráfico al dividir intervalos de ubicación conocidos en un número fijo de subsegmentos no vinculados a ningún formato de proveedores de mapa, codificación eficiente de la información de tráfico y distribución de la información de tráfico a usuarios finales de dispositivos de consumo sobre uno o más de un satélite basado en un medio de transporte de transmisión y una red de comunicaciones de datos. Las modalidades ejemplares de la presente invención detallan un servicio de tráfico a nivel nacional que puede ser codificado y distribuido a través de un servicio de transmisión individual, tal como por ejemplo, un servicio de audio digital de radio por satélite (SDARS) o una transmisión sobre una red de datos. Modalidades ejemplares incluyen la agregación de los datos de tráfico a partir de segmentos de múltiples intervalos de ubicación en vectores de flujo predefinidos y predeterminados, y enviar los vectores de flujo dentro de una corriente de datos a los usuarios.
