Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una célula de planta de algodón, caracterizada porque comprende un gen quimérico que comprende (a) una primera secuencia de ácido nucleico que comprende la secuencia de nucleótidos de SEQ ID NO: 1 o SEQ ID NO: 2 que confiere inducibilidad de estrés sobre dicho gen quimérico; (b) una segunda secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica un producto de expresión de interés; y (c) una secuencia de terminación y poliadenilación en donde dicho producto de expresión de interés es una proteína o péptido seleccionado de PNC1 (pirazinamidasa/inocitinamidasa 1), NMA1 (ácido nicotínico mononucleótido adenilitransferasa 1) o Los5; o una molécula de ARN capaz de disminuir la expresión de PARP1 (poli(ADP-ribosa) polimerasa 1), PARP2 (poli(ADP-ribosa) polimerasa 2), FTA (farnesitransferasa alfa ) o FTB (farnesitransferasa beta).
