Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una secuencia de ácidos nucleicos (aislada) que comprende una secuencia nucleotídica seleccionada de (a) SEQ ID NO: 1 o un fragmento de la misma, en donde dicho fragmento comprende al menos 400 nucleótidos consecutivos de SEQ ID NO: 1 y tiene actividad de promotor específica de semilla; (b) una secuencia nucleotídica con al menos 80% de identidad de secuencia con SEQ ID NO: 1 y que tiene actividad de promotor específica de semilla; (c) una secuencia nucleotídica que se hibridiza bajo condiciones estrictas con la secuencia nucleotídica de (a) o (b); y (d) una secuencia nucleotídica complementaria a la secuencia nucleotídica de cualquiera de (a) a (c); además en la presente se divulga un gen quimérico que comprende la secuencia de aminoácidos (aislada) descrita en la presente vinculada operativamente con un ácido nucleico que codifica un producto de expresión de interés, y opcionalmente una terminación de transcripción y secuencia de poliadenilación; también en la presente se divulga un vector, una célula de planta transgénica, una planta transgénica y una semilla como está caracterizado en las reivindicaciones; los métodos divulgados en la presente se relacionan con la producción de una planta transgénica, el cultivo de algodón, la producción de semillas, efectuar la expresión específica de semilla de un producto en el algodón y de propiedades que alteran la fibra en una planta de algodón como está caracterizado en las reivindicaciones.
