Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a polímeros elastoméricos modificados en su estructura principal. La invención también se refiere a composiciones de polímeros que comprenden esos polímeros modificados, al uso de esas composiciones en la preparación de composiciones de polímeros vulcanizados y artículos preparados a partir de estas. Los polímeros modificados son útiles en la preparación de composiciones elastoméricas vulcanizadas, es decir, reticuladas, que tienen una pérdida de histéresis relativamente baja. Esas composiciones vulcanizadas son útiles en diversos artículos, que incluyen superficies de rodadura de neumáticos con poca concentración de calor, una baja resistencia a la rodadura, una buena adherencia en superficies húmedas y heladas, en combinación con un buen equilibrio de otras propiedades químicas y físicas deseables, por ejemplo, la resistencia a la abrasión y la resistencia a la tracción. Además, las composiciones de polímeros no vulcanizadas presentan una capacidad de procesamiento excelente.
