Abstract
Se proporcionan procesos para producir hidrocarburos C2+. Tales procesos usan Br2, HBr, y/o calor que se produce por tales procesos, proporcionando de esta manera procesos comercialmente eficientes. Para ejemplos, un proceso puede comprender (a) producir HBr y bromuro de metilo usando una fuente de bromo y una corriente de gas que comprende metano; (b) calentamiento del bromuro de metilo en la presencia de un catalizador para producir hidrocarburos HBr y C2+ adicionales; (c) combinar al menos algo del HBr y una fuente de oxígeno en presencia de un compuesto que contiene cerio en al menos alrededor de 315ºC para producir Br2; y (d) usar al menos algo del Br2 producido de (c) como al menos una porción de la fuente de bromo en (a). Adicionalmente, la HBr adicional de (b) se puede usar en (c) y/o el calor se puede recuperar de (c) y usar para proporcionar al menos algo del calentamiento en (a), (b), o ambos.
