Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un metodo para la producción de ácido clórico, caracterizado por las etapas de: a) alimentar una solución acuosa de clorato a una celda electrolítica-electrodialítica; b) formar electrolíticamente iones de hidrógeno en un compartimiento de la celda y transferir iones de clorato desde la alimentación de la solución acuosa de clorato, a traves de una membrana de intercambio de aniones, hasta el primer compartimiento, para formar ácido clórico en el mismo; c) remover el ácido clórico del primer compartimiento; d) formar electrolíticamente iones de hidroxilo en otro compartimiento de la celda y transferir el catión del clorato desde la alimentación de la solución acuosa de clorato a traves de una membrana de intercambio de cationes, hasta el otro compartimiento, para formar un hidróxido del catión; y e) remover una solución acuosa de hidróxido del otro compartimiento.
