Abstract

시청자에게 실시간 편집제어에 관한 시스템과 방법을 제공한다. 디지탈 영상자료는 비교적 짧은 세그먼트로 분할되고 각각이 이 세그먼트들은 당해 세그먼트내에 포함되어 있는 잠재적으로 거부감을 줄 수 있는 자료의 레벨을 나타내기 위하여 등급이 매겨진다. 각 세그먼트는 이 등급을 나타내기 위한 태그가 부여된다. 영상자료를 시청하기 앞서서 또는 영상자료를 재생하는 도중에 시청자는 어느 등급레벨로 당해 영상자료를 시청할 것인가를 결정한다. 이 결정된 등급레벨은 재생시스템에 입력되며, 재생도중에 시스템은 각 세그먼트가 재생될 것인지의 영부를 판정하기 위해 당해 세그먼트의 태그를 조사한다. 만약 어떤 세그먼트가 시청자가 요구한 것보다 높은 레벨의 등급을 나타내도록 태그가 부쳐되어 있다면 해당 세그먼트는 편집되어 디스플레이되지 않는다.
이런 방식으로 영상자료는 시청자에게 디스플레이되면서 실시간으로 편집된다.

영상자료의 실시간 편집 제어 시스템 및 방법

제1도는 비디오 온 디맨드 시스템을 나타내는 블록 다이어그램, 제2도는 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따라 영상자료의 부분들에 태그를 부여하는 작동플로우 다이어그램, 제3도는 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따른 셋 탑 박스의 대표적인 구조를 나타내는 블록 다이어그램, 제4도는 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따른 세 탑 박스의 작동을 나타내는 작동플로우 다이어그램, 제5도는 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따른 원치 않는 세그먼트를 편집하는 방법을 나타내는 작동플로우 다이어그램.

Claims (36)

  1. 복수의 세그먼트로 분할되고 각 세그먼트에는 당해 세그먼트의 등급을 나타내도록 태그가 부여된 비디오 영상자료를 수신하기 위한 비디오 영상자료 수신수단:상기 등급을 근거로 각 세그먼트가 시청자에게 제공될것인지의 여부를 판정하여 위한 판정수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 판정수단은 해당 세그먼트의 상기 등급을 결정하기 위하여 각 세그먼트의 상기태그를 조사하기 위한 수단:선택된 등급레벨을 결정하기 위한 수단:당해 세그먼트의 상기 등급을 상기 선택된 등급레벨과 비교하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 판정수단은 상기 등급에 근거하여 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하고 있는지 판정하기 위한 수단을 포함하며, 당해 세그먼트가 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하는 경우 상기 복수의 세그먼트들로부터 해당 세그먼트들 제거하기 위한 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시창자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 세그먼트에 태그를 부여하기 위한 수단을 더 포함하며,상기 태그는 상기 세그먼트의 등급을 나타내는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 세그먼트가 압축데이타의 한 프레임인 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하는 상기 세그먼트들이 제거된 후에 상기 압축데이타를 디코딩하기 위한 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하는 상기 세그먼트들이 제거된 후 영상자료를 변조하기 위한 RF변조기: 상기 변조된 자료를 디스플레이하기 위한 텔레비젼을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 변조에 앞서 영상자료를 버퍼링하기 위한 버퍼링 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 영상자료는 비디오 온 디맨드 서비스에 의하여 공급되며 사용자가 영상자료를 시청하는 등급레벨을 선택하도록 하기 위한 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 사용자가 영상자료를 시청하는 등급레벨을 선택하도록 하기 위한 수단은 영상자료를 주문하기 위해 이용되는 셋탑 박스에 시청자의 선택을 입력하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  11. 제9항에 있어서, 영상자료내에 특정한 등급레벨의 자료의 양에 대한 정보를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  12. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 선택된 등급레벨을 결정하기 위한 수단은 시청자가 영상자료를 시청하고자 하는 등급으로 입력하도록 하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  13. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 시청자가 원하는 등급을 입력하도록 하기 위한 수단은 시청자가 등급레벨에 권한을 부여하는 암호를 입력하도록 하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  14. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 선택된 등급레벨을 결정하기 위한 수단은 과거의 시청자 입력에 근거하여 시청자 등급을 판정하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  15. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 세그먼트의 화상부분을 시청자에게 계속 공급하면서 세그먼트 중에서 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함한 음성부분만을 편집하기 위한 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 시스템.
  16. 복수의 세그먼트로 분할되고 각 세그먼트는 당해 세그먼트의 등급을 나타내도록 태그가 부여된 비디오 영상자료를 수신하는 단계:각 세그먼트가 상기 등급에 근거하여 시청자에게 제공될 것인지를 판정하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 방법.
  17. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 판정하는 단계가 당해 세그먼트의 등급을 판정하기 위하여 각 세그먼트의 상기 태그를 조사하는 단계 : 선택된 등급레벨을 판정하는 단계 : 당해 세그먼트의 상기 등급을 상기 선택된 등급레벨과 비교하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 방법.
  18. 제16항에 있어서, 각 세그먼트가 상기 등급에 근거하여 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하고 있는지의 여부를 판정하는 단계: 당해 세그먼트가 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하는 경우 상기 복수의 세그먼트들 중에서 해당 세그먼트를 제거하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 방법.
  19. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 세그먼트의 등급을 나타내는 태그를 상기 세그먼트에 부여하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 방법.
  20. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 각 세그먼트는 압축데이타의 한 프레임인 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 방법.
  21. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 세그먼트들은 시청자에게 제공하기에 앞서 상기 압축데이타를 디코딩하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 제공하기 위한 방법.

  31. 제30항에 있어서, 상기 판정하기 위한 수단은 당해 세그먼트의 상기 등급을 판정하기 위해 각 세그먼트의 상기 태그를 조사하기 위한 수단: 선택된 등급레벨을 판정하기 위한 수단: 당해 세그먼트의 상기 등급을 상기 선택된 등급레벨과 비교하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 온 디맨드 서비스로 주문된 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 공급하기 위한 비디오 온 디맨드 시스템
  32. 제30항에 있어서, 상기 판정하기 위한 수단은 상기 등급을 근거하여 각 세그먼트가 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하는지의 여부를 판정하기 위한 수단을 포함하며, 당해 세그먼트가 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하는 경우 상기 복수의 세그먼트들 중에서 해당 세그먼트를 제거하기 위한 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 온 디맨드 서비스로 주문된 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 공급하기 위한 비디오 온 디맨드 시스템.

  34. 제33항에 있어서, 상기 판정하기 위한 수단은 당해 세그먼트의 등급을 판정하기 위하여 각 세그먼트의 상기 태그를 조사하기 위한 수단; 당해 세그먼트의 상기 등급을 상기 선택된 등급레벨과 비교하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 재생되는 비디오 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 공급하기 위한 비디오 재생시스템
  35. 제33항에있어서, 상기 판정하기 위한 수단은 상기 등급에 근거하여 각 세그먼트가 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하는지의 여부를 판정하기 위한 수단을 포함하며, 당해 세그먼트가 거부감을 주는 자료를 포함하고 있는 경우 상기 복수의 세그먼트들 중에서 해당 세그먼트를 제거하는 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는재생되는 영상자료의 편집제어를 시청자에게 공급하기 위한 비디오 재생시스템.
  36. 비디오 영상자료를 복수의 세그먼트로 분할하는 단계; 시청자가 태그가 부여된 세그먼트를 받고 상기 태그에 근거하여 각 세그먼트가 시청자에게 공급될 것인지 여부를 판정하는 시스템을 통하여 시청하도록 당해 세그먼트의 등급을 나타내도록 상기 태그를 부여하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시청자에 의해 편집가능한 영상자료를 공급하기 위한 방법.
