Claims (5)
- 두개의 지지판(2,3) 사이의 전기-광학 디스플레이 매체(4), 지지판의 대향 표면상에 제공된 화상 전극(6,7)으로 구성되는 각각의 화소가 로우 및 컬럼으로 배치된 화소(12)의 시스템과, 로우 전극(8) 및 컬럼 전극(8)의 시스템을 포함하여, 화소와 직렬로 배치된 비선형 스위칭 소자(9)에 의해 로우 전극을 통해 선택주기 동안 화소의 로우가 선택 신호에 의해 선택되고, 컬럼 전극(11)을 통해 데이타 신호가 제공되는 디스플레이 장치(1)를 구동하는 방법에 있어서, 로우(8)의 선택 이후 및 후속 로우(8)의 선택 이전에, 제공될 최소 데이타 전압 및 최대 데이타 전압의 평균값에 의해 결정되는 기준 전압에 대해 부호를 데이타 신호가 변경시키고, 상기 기준 전압에 대해 양의 부호를 갖는 서브-신호의 에너지량은 상기 기준 전압에 대해 음의 부호를 갖는 서브-신호의 에너지량과 거의 동일하게 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치 구동 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기준 전압은 거의 0볼트인 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치 구동 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 데이타 신호는 거의 동일한 절대 전압값을 갖으며, 로우-선택 주기의 거의 절반의 기간을 갖는 2개의 서브-신호를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치 구동 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기-서브신호의 기간은 2μ초와 32μ초 사이에 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치 구동 방법.
- 두개의 지지판(2,3) 사이의 전기-광학 디스플레이매체(1), 지지판의 대향 표면상에 제공된 화상 전극(6,7)을 포함하는 각각의 화소가 로우 및 컬럼으로 배치된 화소(12)의 시스템, 상기 대향 표면중 한 표면상의 상기 화상 전극과 일련의 로우 전극(28) 및 일련의 컬럼 전극(11)중 한 전극 사이에 접속된 비선형 스위칭 소자(9)를 통해 화상 전극을 구동하기 위한 상기 일련의 로우 전극(8) 및 컬럼 전극(11)의 시스템과, 로우 선택 주기 동안, 기준 전압에 관계하여 양 및 음의 극성의 제1 및 제2서브-신호를 각각 포함하는 데이타 신호를 컬럼 전극(11)에 공급하는 수단을 포함하고, 상기 제1 및 제2서브-신호의 에너지량은 거의 동일한 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
