Description

난연성 벽지원지의 제조방법
도면은 본 발명에 의한 난연성 벽지원지의 제조 공정을 보인 설명도.

본 발명은 주로 백화점이나, 고층빌딩, 상가 유흥업소 등에서 화재시 화염의 차단을 목적으로 사용되는 난연성 벽지원지의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다.
종래에는 난연성 벽지의 제조를 위하여 펄프슬러리 상태에서 삼산화 안티몬 등의 난연제를 투입하였으나, 이 방법은 탈수시에 고가인 난연제가 상당량 유실되므로 유존량을 충분히 하기 위하여 난연제를 대량 투입 사용하게 됨으로써 원가 상승의 요인이 되었던 것이다.
이후 난연제의 유실을 방지하기 위하여 표면처리 방법이 개발되었으나 지금까지 사용한 표면 코팅 난연제는 수지형태이므로 건조 후 탈수분으로 인하여 종이의 경질화로 인열강도가 저하되었던 것이며, 많은 양의 난연제를 첨가하더라도 일정한 최저 처리속도는 유지하여야 하므로 대량 생산체계에서는 난연제 부착량의 부족현상이 빈발하게 되어 인열강도 및 난연성 불량 그리고 내열 변색의 큰 문제점이 있는 것이다.
따라서 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위하여 본 발명은 난연제의 침투력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 하기 위한 폴리알킬아릴에테르 변색을 방지하기 위한 인산화합물, 인열강도를 높이기 위한 유연제로서 소량의 글리세린을 투입하여서 된 함침액을 초지필이 통과하도록 하여 난연벽지를 제조함으로써 난연성, 인열강도 등이 향상된 양질의 우수한 난연성 벽지 원지를 제조할 수 있도록 한 것으로, 이를 첨부된 실시예에 따라 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
[실시예]
난연제로서 구아니딘 90중량% 변색방지제로서 인산화합물 5중량%, 침투제로서 폴리알킬아릴에테르 1중량%, 유연제로서 글리세린 3중량%, 상용성이 우수한 양이온의 폴리아크릴레이트 콜로이드 합성사이즈제 1중량%를 넣어 만든 함침액(5)을 사이즈 프레스에 공급하고 이러한 상태에서 초지필이 사이즈 프레스를 통과하도록 하며, 건조 후 광택공정을 거치면 본 발명에 의한 벽지 원지를 얻는다.
이와 같이 하여 얻은 본 발명에 의한 벽지원지를 7×21cm의 시험편으로 절단하고, 시험장치의 시료집게에 물리며 버어너의 화염을 4cm로 조정한 후 화염내에 상기 시험편을 넣고, 12초가 경과한 후 화염을 떼며, 시험편의 화염이 없어질 때까지의 시간을 잰 후 탄화된 시험편을 꺼내 탄화 높이를 측정한다.
그 결과 탄화길이는 8.5cm가 되었고 탄화면적은 15.7cm이 되었으며, 180℃에서 2분간 방치한 결과 내열인장 강도는 8kg, 내열인열 강도는 45g, 난연제 부착량은14.0g/m이 되었다.
아울러 시험편을 200℃하에서 2분 동안 방지시켰을 경우 내열 변색은 미미하여 극히 양호한 상태임을 알 수 있었다.
[비교예]
본 비교예에서는 종래의 방법에 의하여 구아니딘 난연제 96.6중량% 폴리아크릴레이트 콜로이드 합성사이즈제 1중량%로 함침액을 조성하고, 전술한 바와 동일한 공정으로 제조한 시험편을 상기한 바와같은 크기로 절단하고, 동일한 방법으로 가열 하였던 바, 탄화길이는 10.5cm, 탄화면적은 22.0cm이 되었고, 내열인장 강도는 7.7kg, 내열인열 강도는 30g의 값을 얻었다.
이는 전술한 본 발명에 의한 실시예의 방법보다 탄화길이 면에서 24%증가된 것이고, 탄화면적면에서 40% 증가한 것이다.
또한 200℃의 온도하에서 상기 시험편을 2분간 가열한 결과 변색도가 심하여 내열 변색성이 저조하며, 난연제의 부착량도 12.5g/m에 불과하고, 180℃에서 2분간 방치한 결과 내열인열 강도는 30g에 불과하며, 내열인장 강도 역시 7.7kg이 되어 특히 내열인열 강도면에서 33%가량 저조한 것이 확인되었다.
이와 같이 하여 본 발명에 의한 난연벽지 원지는 필수적으로 갖추어야 할 주요특성인 탄화길이, 탄화면적, 내열변색, 내열인열 강도 내열인장 강도 등에서 대폭 개선된 성능을 갖는 것이면서도, 난연제의 유실량은 극소화시켜 여타 조성물을 추가 투입함에도 불구하고 전체 적인 제조 원가에는 별반 영향을 미치지 않을수 있으므로 즉시 적용 가능한 유용한 것이다.

Claims (1)

  1. 난연제를 주성분으로 조성된 함침액을 사이즈 프레스에 공급하고, 이러한 상태에서 초지필이 사이즈 프레스를 통과하도록 하며, 건조 후 광택 공정을 거쳐서 벽지 원지를 제조하는 공지의 방법에 있어서, 난연제로서 구아니딘 80-90중량%, 변색 방지제로서 인산화합물 5-14중량%, 침투제로서 폴리알킬아릴에테르1중량%이하, 유연제로서 글리세린 3중량%, 상용성이 우수한 양이온의 폴리아크릴레이트콜로이드 합성사이즈제 1중량% 이하를 넣어 만든 함침액(5)을 이용함을 특징으로 하는 난연성 벽지 원지의 제조 방법.
