제1도는 디지틀신호입력에 응답하여 화상을 표시하는 액정매트릭스표시장치의 블록도,
제2도는 제1도의 표시장치의 동작을 설명하기위한 파형도,
제5도는 본발명에 따른 컬러표시용액정매트릭스표시장치(LCM)의 일례에 대한 블록도.

Claims (6)

  1. 복수의 X방향신호라인과 이 X방향에 직교하는 Y방향신호라인을 가지며 이 교점이 표시화상의 화소를 이루는 매트릭스표시패널, 상기 복수의 X방향신호라인을 순차적으로 주사하여 화상신호를 공급하는 X방향구동수단, 상기 복수의 Y방향신호라인을 상기 복수의 X방향신호라인에 동기시켜 상기 복수의 Y방향신호라인에 순차적으로 선택신호를 공급하는 Y방향구동수단, 애널로그화상신호를 받아서 디지틀화상신호로 변환하는 A/D변환수단, 복수의 다른 전압레벨에서 신호를 발생하는 전압발생수단, 상기의 A/D변환수단의 출력에 대응하는 상기 전압발생수단의 1출력전압을 선택하여 상기의 X방향구동수단에 상기의 화상신호로서 공급하는 셀렉터수단으로서 구성된 것을 특징으로하는 다계조표시장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기의 매트릭표시패널은 액정표시패널로서 구성된것을 특징으로하는 다계조표시장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기의 매트릭표시패널은 플라즈마 표시패널인것을 특징으로하는 다계조표시장치.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기의 액정패널은 1화소당 N비트(N : 정의 정수)의 정보를 구별하여 표시할수있는 액정셀로서 구성되고, 상기의 전압발생수단은 2N종류의 다른 전압레벨에서 신호를 발생하는것을 특징으로하는 다계조 표시장치.
  5. 제2항에 있어서, 상기의 액정패널은 1화소당N(N : 정의 정수)종류의 다른 색에 대응하는 2N신호라인으로서 구성되고, 상기의 A/D변환수단은 N종류의 색화상애널로그신호를 받아들여 N종류의 다른 색화상디지틀신호로 변환하는것을 특징으로하는 다계조 표시장치.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기의 A/D변환수단은 상기 애널로그 입력신호를 상기의 셀렉터 수단에 공급되는M(M : 정의 정수)비트의 병렬디지틀신호를 변환하는것을 특징으로하는 다계조 표시장치.
