Claims (3)
- 지지수단(58)이 절곡된 호일스트립(folded foil strips)의 절곡부(42), (44), (50)의 맞선단부와 맞물림으로써 서로서로에 대한 길이방향(세로방향) 운동을 방지하는 절곡호일스트립으로 형성된 촉매변환기기체(catalytic converter substrate)(22)에 있어서, 상기 기체(22)는 함께 배열되고 절곡된 2개의 평편한 호일스트립(36), (38)과 하나의 파형호일스트립(40)으로 구성되고, 평편한 호일스트립(36), (38) 각각은 일련의 평행한 장방형단위체로 구성된 절곡구조로 형성되며 그 각각의 본질적으로 U-형단면을 가지며, 2개의 평편한 호일스트립(36), (38)으로 형성된 절곡구조는 서로서로 끼워지며, 파형 호일스트립(40)은 끼워진 절곡구조 사이에 전방 및 후방으로 교호하여 절곡되게 놓여져서 이들을 서로서로 분리하여 상기 파형 호일스트립(40)과 평편한 호일스트립(36), (38) 사이에 통로(54)를 만들게 된 것을 특징으로 하는 촉매변환기 기체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 파형 호일스트립(40)의 각 절곡부(50)은 절곡부(44) 주위에 형성되어 각각의 평편한 호일스트립(36), (38)의 각 단위체평행면 사이에서 절곡부(44)를 고정시킴을 특징으로 하는 촉매변환기 기체.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 각각의 절곡구조에서 그 단면에서 나타난 바와 같이 각 장방형 단위체의 폭(W)는 인접한 장방형단위체와 크기를 달리하며, 그 크기의 차이는 기체(22)에 대하여 요구되는 단면형상에 의해 정해짐을 특징으로 하는 촉매변환기 기체.
