제1도는 피복되지 않은 일정의 섬유가 자외선에 노출될 때 광 손실을 도시한 그래프. 제2도는 단일피복층에 있어서 자외선(VV)흡수물질에 기인하는 통상적인 광손실의 감소를 도시한 그래프. 제3도는 첨가된 주어진 형태의 자외선 흡수재료를 갖는 피복재료와 자외선흡수재료를 갖지않는 피복재료의 자외선 흡수스펙트럼들을 도시한 그래프. 제4도는 2중층 피복에 있어서 VV흡수재료에 기인하는 통상적인 광손실의 감소를 도시한 그래프. 제5도는 단일 피복층을 갖는 광학섬유를 도시한 단면도. 제6도는 2중 피복층을 갖는 광학섬유를 도시한 단면도.

Claims (1)

  1. 본문에서 설명되고 도면에서 예시된 바와 같이 자외선방사에 의하여 경화시킬 수 있는 전중합체를 포함하는 자외선으로 경화시킬 수 있는 층을 포함하며, 섬유와 상기 자외선으로 경화시킬 수 있는 층 사이에 위치된 적어도 한개의 내부층을 광학적으로 또한 포함할 수 있는 피복물을 광학섬유상에 인가시키는 단계와, 전중합체를 적어도 부분적으로 중합시키도록 피복물을 자외선방사에 노출시키는 단계를 포함하며, 자외선방사로 경화되는 피복물을 갖는 광학섬유를 생각하는 방법에 있어서, 적어도 상기층들중의 하나가 상기 자외선방사 노출로부터 초래될 수 있는 광학섬유의 광학손실들을 적어도 감소시키는데 충분한 양인 적어도 무게로 0.1퍼센트의 자외선방사흡수 재료를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학섬유 피복물의 자외선 흡수재.
