Claims (18)
- 다음 단계를 포함하는 조직을 보호하는 방법:
동맥 내강 (lumen of an artery)의 한 위치 (a location)에 유체 (fluid)를 유입 (introducing)하는 단계로,

상기 연장 부재의 최소 일부를 따라 연장되고, 사용시 순환하는 제1 유체 (circulating first fluid)가 이를 통과하여 유동 (flow)하는 유체 챔버 (fluid chamber)를 구비하여, 상기 유체 운반 내강을 통과하여 유동하고 원위 포트로 방출되는 제2 유체 (second fluid)를 냉각시키는 열 부재 (thermal member); 및
(i) 제1 유체를 냉각시키는 냉장 요소 (refrigeration element) 및 (ii) 상기 유체 챔버를 통해 제1 유체를 순환시키기 위한 펌프를 포함하는 냉각 유닛 (cooling unit). - 제16항에 있어서, 상기 연장 부재의 원위 부분 (distal portion)에 결합되는 (coupled) 팽창성 부재 (expandable member)를 추가로 포함하되, 상기 팽창성 부재는 혈관 내에서 팽창하고 최소 부분적으로 혈관을 폐색 (occlude)하도록 구성되는 조직 냉각 장치.
- 제17항에 있어서, 상기 열 부재는 상기 팽창성 부재를 포함하고, 상기 순환하는 제1 유체는 상기 팽창성 부재를 팽창시키는 조직 냉각 장치.
