- 케이싱(12)의 내측 표면(13)과 정화 블록(14)의 측벽(15) 사이에 개재되어 정화 블록(14)을 지지하는 적어도 하나의 지지 요소(16)
를 포함하는 배기 가스 정화 부재에 있어서,
케이싱(12)의 내측 표면(13)은 정화 블록(14)을 향해 돌출하는 적어도 하나의 돌출 부분(18)을 포함하고, 상기 지지 요소(16)는 정화 블록(14)의 상기 측벽(15)과 상기 돌출 부분(18) 사이에 개재되는 것을 특징으로 하는 배기 가스 정화 부재. - 제1항에 있어서, 각각의 돌출 부분(18)은 엠보싱(embossing)된 돌출부인 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 정화 블록(14) 및 케이싱(12)은 유사한 대체로 사변형 형상의 단면을 갖는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 각각의 돌출 부분(18)은 3.5 mm 미만의 높이에 걸쳐 연장되고 돌출되는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 케이싱(12)은 외측 표면(21)을 포함하며, 상기 케이싱(12)은 이 케이싱(12)의 외측 표면(21) 상에 배치되는 보강용 리브(stiffening rib; 20)를 포함하는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 케이싱은, 서로 연결되는 2개의 케이싱 절반부(12A, 12B)를 포함하는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 케이싱 절반부(12A, 12B)는 이들 절반부의 연결부에서 연결 요소(22)로 덮여있는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 케이싱(12)의 내측 표면(13)은, 코너에 의해 구분되는 여러 개의 벽을 포함하며, 각각의 벽은 적어도 하나의 돌출 부분(18)을 포함하는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 케이싱(12)의 내측 표면(13)은 적어도 2개의 돌출 부분(18)을 포함하며, 이들 돌출 부분(18)은 다양한 높이에 걸쳐 연장되고 돌출되는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 정화 블록(14)은 평행 육면체이며, 정화 블록은 길이 방향(X)으로의 길이(L), 길이 방향(X)에 대해 수직인 제1 횡 방향으로 제1 폭(l1), 그리고 길이 방향(X)에 대해 수직이고 제1 횡 방향에 대해 수직인 제2 횡 방향으로 제2 폭(l2)을 가지며,
제1 횡 방향에 있어서,
h1=F1(H1;l1;BW;GBD;Ep)가 성립하고
제2 횡 방향에 있어서,
h2=F2(H2;l2;BW;GBD;Ep)가 성립하며,
여기서
h1은 제1 횡 방향으로의, 케이싱의 제1 돌출 부분(18)의 높이이고,
h2는 제2 횡 방향으로의, 케이싱의 제2 돌출 부분(18)의 높이이며,
F1은 제1 함수이고,
F2은 제2 함수이며,
H1은 제1 횡 방향으로의, 케이싱(12)의 제1 외측 치수이고, H2는 제2 횡 방향으로의, 케이싱(12)의 제2 외측 치수이며,
Ep는 케이싱(12)을 형성하는 벽의 두께이고,
BW는 각각의 지지 요소(16)의 기본 중량(Basis Weight)이며,
GBD는 정화 부재(10)의 주어진 갭 벌크 밀도(Gap Bulk Density)인 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재. - 제10항에 있어서,
제1 횡 방향에 있어서,
h1=(1/2)×(H1 - l1 - 2×BW/GBD - 2×Ep)가 성립하고,
제2 횡 방향에 있어서,
h2=(1/2)×(H2 - l2 - 2×BW/GBD - 2×Ep)가 성립하는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재. - 제1항에 따른 배기 가스 정화 부재(10)를 제조하는 방법으로서,
- 정화 블록(14)의 치수를 측정하는 단계(100), 및
- 각각의 돌출 부분(18)을 형성하는 단계(120)로서, 각각의 돌출 부분은 정화 블록(14)의 측정된 치수에 따라 각각의 높이에 걸쳐 형성되는 것인 단계
를 포함하는 배기 가스 정화 부재의 제조 방법. - 제12항에 있어서,
각각의 지지 요소(16)의 중량을 측정하는 단계(110)
를 더 포함하며, 각각의 돌출 부분(18)의 높이는 또한 개별 지지 요소(16) 각각의 측정된 질량에 따라 각각 좌우되는 것인 배기 가스 정화 부재의 제조 방법. - 제12항 또는 제13항에 있어서,
각각의 지지 요소(16)가 정화 블록(14)과 대응하는 돌출 부분(18) 사이에 클램핑(clamping)되도록 하기 위해, 특히 접착제 접합을 이용하여 정화 블록(14) 상에 각각의 지지 요소(16)를 조립하는 단계(130)
를 포함하며,
이 단계(130)에 후속하여 정화 블록(14) 주위에 케이싱(12)을 조립하는 단계
를 더 포함하는 배기 가스 정화 부재의 제조 방법.
