Description
Claims (10)
- 다량의 회색 카올린을 포함하는 조 카올린을 부유선광하여 감소된 티타니아 함량을 갖는 카올린을 제공하는 단계,감소된 티타니아 함량을 갖는 카올린을 고속 원심분리하여 약 70 중량% 이상이 2 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖는 카올린을 포함하는 조립 스트림 및 약 80 중량% 이상이 1 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖는 카올린을 포함하는 미립 스트림를 제공하는 단계, 및미립 스트림를 초미립 카올린 안료로 정련하는 단계를 순차적으로 포함하는, 카올린 처리 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 고속 원심분리가 약 1,000 내지 약 10,000의"g"력을 사용하는 것을 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 조 카올린이 약 75 중량% 이상의 회색 카올린을 포함하는 것인 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 부유선광이 카올린의 티타니아 함량을 약 1 중량% 미만으로 감소시키는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 부유선광이 포말 부유선광, 초부유선광(ultraflotation), 및 TREP 부유선광 중 하나를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 조 카올린을 부유선광하기 전에 잔사제거(degritting)하는 것을 추가로 포함하는 방법.

- 제7항에 있어서, 약 98 중량% 이상의 입자가 2 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖고, 약 97 중량% 이상의 입자가 1 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖고, 약 90 중량% 이상의 입자가 0.5 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖고, 약 70% 이상의 입자가 0.3 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖고, 입자의 표면적이 약 25 ㎡/g 이상이고, 입자의 명도가 92 초과인 초미립 수화 카올린.
- 제7항에 있어서, 약 99 중량% 이상의 입자가 2 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖고, 약 98 중량% 이상의 입자가 1 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖고, 약 92 중 량% 이상의 입자가 0.5 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖고, 약 72% 이상의 입자가 0.3 마이크로미터 이하의 크기를 갖고, 입자의 표면적이 약 26 ㎡/g 이상이고, 입자의 티타니아 함량이 약 0.4 중량% 이하이고, 입자의 산화철 함량이 약 1 중량% 이하이고, 입자의 명도가 93 초과인 초미립 수화 카올린.
- 다량의 페인트 비히클, 및소량의 제7항의 초미립 수화 카올린을 포함하는 페인트 조성물.
