Claims (11)
- 한 프레임이 복수의 서브필드로 분할되어 구동되는 플라즈마 표시 장치에 있어서,복수의 방전 셀이 형성되어 있으며 상기 방전 셀을 통과하는 제1 전극 및 제2 전극을 포함하는 플라즈마 표시 패널,상기 제1 전극에 제1 전압과 제2 전압을 교대로 가지는 제1 유지방전 파형을 인가하고 상기 제2 전극에 제3 전압과 제4 전압을 교대로 가지는 제2 유지방전 파형을 인가하여 선택된 방전 셀에서 유지방전을 형성하는 구동부, 그리고입력되는 영상 신호로부터 적어도 하나의 서브필드에서의 화면 부하율을 계산하고, 상기 화면 부하율에 따라 상기 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기를 결정하는 제어부를 포함하며,상기 제어부는 제1 화면 부하율에서의 상기 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기를 상기 제1 화면 부하율보다 높은 제2 화면 부하율에서의 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기보다 짧게 하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제어부는 한 프레임에 해당하는 영상 신호의 레벨로부터 상기 화면 부하율을 결정한다.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제어부는 각 서브필드에서 켜지는 방전 셀의 개수를 계산하고 상기 적어도 하나의 서브필드에서 켜지는 방전 셀의 개수로부터 상기 화면 부하율을 결정하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 제어부는 한 프레임에 해당하는 각 서브필드에서의 켜지는 방전 셀의 개수의 총합으로부터 상기 화면 부하율을 결정하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 제어부는 상기 화면 부하율에 따른 상기 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기 데이터를 저장하고 있는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 제어부는 결정된 상기 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기에 따라 한 프레임에서의 휴지 기간을 계산하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 제3 전압은 상기 제2 전압과 실질적으로 동일하며, 상기 제4 전압은 상기 제1 전압과 실질적으로 동일한 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 복수의 방전 셀이 형성되어 있으며 상기 방전 셀을 통과하는 제1 전극 및 제2 전극을 포함하는 플라즈마 표시 패널에서, 한 프레임을 복수의 서브필드로 분할하고 각 서브필드에서 상기 제1 전극에 제1 전압과 제2 전압을 교대로 가지는 제1 유지방전 파형을 인가하고 상기 제2 전극에 제3 전압과 제4 전압을 교대로 가지는 제2 유지방전 파형을 인가하여 선택된 방전 셀을 유지방전시키는 플라즈마 표시 패널의 구동 방법에 있어서,입력되는 영상 신호로부터 적어도 하나의 서브필드에서의 화면 부하율을 계산하는 단계, 그리고상기 화면 부하율에 따라 상기 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기를 계산하는 단계를 포함하며,제1 화면 부하율에서의 상기 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기가 상기 제1 화면 부하율보다 높은 제2 화면 부하율에서의 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기보다 짧은 플라즈마 표시 패널의 구동 방법.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 화면 부하율을 계산하는 단계는 한 프레임에 해당하는 영상 신호의 레벨의 합으로부터 상기 화면 부하율을 계산하는 플라즈마 표시 패널의 구동 방법.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 화면 부하율을 계산하는 단계는 상기 적어도 하나의 서브필드에서의 각 서브필드에서 켜지는 방전 셀의 개수의 총합으로부터 상기 화면 부하율을 계산하는 플라즈마 표시 패널의 구동 방법.
- 제8항 내지 제10항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 상기 제1 및 제2 유지방전 파형의 주기에 따라 한 프레임에서의 휴지 기간을 계산하는 플라즈마 표시 패널의 구동 방법.
