Claims (14)
- 적어도 두 전극에 의해 형성되는 방전 셀을 포함하는 플라즈마 표시 패널,유지 기간에서 상기 적어도 두 전극 중 제1 전극의 전압에서 제2 전극의 전압을 뺀 전압이 양의 전압과 음의 전압을 교대로 가지도록 상기 제1 전극과 제2 전극 중 적어도 하나의 전극에 유지방전 펄스를 인가하는 구동부, 그리고한 프레임을 각각의 가중치를 가지는 복수의 서브필드로 분할하여 구동하며, 각 서브필드의 화면 부하율을 계산하여 상기 유지방전 펄스의 주파수를 제어하는 제어부를 포함하며,상기 제어부는, 제1 화면 부하율을 가지는 제1 서브필드에서의 상기 유지방전 펄스의 주파수를 상기 제1 화면 부하율보다 큰 제2 화면 부하율을 가지는 제2 서브필드에서의 상기 유지방전 펄스의 주파수보다 낮게 설정하는플라즈마 표시 장치.

- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제어부는, 상기 제2 서브필드에서의 상기 유지방전 펄스의 전압 변경 시간을 상기 제1 서브필드에서의 상기 유지방전 펄스의 전압 변경 시간보다 짧게 설정하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제4항에 있어서,상기 각 서브필드의 화면 부하율은 상기 서브필드에서 켜지는 방전 셀의 개수로 정의되는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제4항에 있어서,상기 제어부는, 각 서브필드에서 화면 부하율에 따른 상기 유지방전 펄스의 주파수를 저장하고 있는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 제어부는, 한 프레임의 영상 데이터의 평균 신호 레벨로부터 한 프레임의 화면 부하율을 결정하고, 상기 한 프레임의 화면 부하율에 따라 상기 한 프레임에 할당되는 상기 유지방전 펄스의 총 개수를 결정하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제4항에 있어서,상기 유지 기간에서,상기 구동부는, 제1 전압과 제2 전압을 교대로 가지는 상기 유지방전 펄스를 상기 제1 전극에 인가하며, 상기 제1 전압과 상기 제2 전압을 교대로 가지며 상기 제1 전극에 인가되는 유지방전 펄스와 반대 위상을 가지는 유지방전 펄스를 상기 제2 전극에 인가하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제4항에 있어서,상기 유지 기간에서,상기 구동부는, 상기 제1 전극을 제1 전압으로 바이어스한 상태에서 상기 제1 전압보다 높은 제2 전압과 상기 제1 전압보다 낮은 제3 전압을 교대로 가지는 상기 유지방전 펄스를 상기 제2 전극에 인가하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제4항에 있어서,상기 플라즈마 표시 패널에서 상기 복수의 제1 전극 및 상기 복수의 제2 전극이 일 방향으로 뻗어 있으며,상기 플라즈마 표시 패널은 상기 제1 및 제2 전극과 교차하는 방향으로 뻗어 있는 복수의 제3 전극을 더 포함하며,상기 제1 전극, 제2 전극 및 제3 전극에 의해 상기 방전 셀이 형성되는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 적어도 두 전극에 의해 형성되는 방전 셀을 포함하는 플라즈마 표시 패널에서 한 프레임을 각각의 가중치를 가지는 복수의 서브필드로 나누어 구동하는 방법에 있어서,입력되는 영상 데이터로부터 각 서브필드에서의 화면 부하율을 결정하는 단계,상기 화면 부하율에 따라 각 서브필드에서의 유지방전 펄스의 주파수를 결정하는 단계, 그리고각 서브필드에서 상기 결정된 유지방전 펄스의 주파수에 따라 상기 유지방전 펄스를 상기 전극에 인가하여 화상을 표시하는 단계를 포함하며,제1 서브필드보다 큰 화면 부하율을 가지는 제2 서브필드에서의 유지방전 펄스의 주파수를 상기 제1 서브필드에서의 상기 유지방전 펄스의 주파수보다 높게 설정하는플라즈마 표시 패널의 구동 방법.

- 제11항에 있어서,상기 제2 서브필드에서의 유지방전 펄스의 전압 변경 시간을 상기 제1 서브필드에서의 상기 유지방전 펄스의 전압 변경 시간보다 짧게 설정하는 플라즈마 표시 패널의 구동 방법.
