Abstract

생리감시시스템은 사용잘부터 생리데이타를 실시간으로 수집하고 이 데이타를 원격 데이타베이스에 전송한다. 원격 데이타베이스에 접속하여 저장된 데이타를 이용해 운동선수의 활동을 평가할 수 있다. 이 시스템은 운동장이나 코트에서 운동선수의 정확한 위치를 결정하고 전송하는 위치센서들을 포함한다.

Description

생리 감시 시스템{PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING AND SYSTEM}
최근 몇년간 프로스포츠와 아마추어 스포츠 분야에서는 선수의 활동과 그 능력을 증진시키는데 기술력을 집중하고 있다. 지금까지는 개량된 도구와 식이요법을 선수에게 제공하는데 대부분의 관심이 집중되었다. 이런 개선이 굉장히 유익하기는 하지만, 실시간 생리데이타를 기초로 개선된 훈련도구를 제공하면 훈련구조를 더 개선할 수 있는 여지가 있다.
운동선수의 생리데이타를 감시하는 현재의 방법은 체온이나 호흡과 같은 기능을 주기적으로 테스트하거나 모니터하는 것이다. 이런 데이타는 유용하기는 하지만, 선수의 컨디션이나 활동을 평가하는데 가장 효과적일 수 있는 정밀한 시간적 정보를 제공하지는 않는다.
본 출원은 2001년 6월 19일 출원된 미국 가특허출원 60/299,602의 일부계속출원으로서, 그 우선권을 주장한다. 본 발명은 한명이나 여러명의 운동선수로부터 생리적 및/또는 위치정보를 수집하고 이 선수에 특유한 정보의 데이타베이스를 유지관리하는 시스템에 관한 것이다.

본 발명은 한명이나 여러명의 운동선수로부터 생리적 및/또는 위치정보를 수집하고 이 선수에 특유한 정보의 데이타베이스를 유지관리하는 시스템에 관한 것이다.
일 실시예에서, 이 시스템은 힘, 보폭, 발의 압력, 걸음수, 속도를 측정하는 센서가 내장된 신발을 포함한다. 선수는 무선 표면근전도 버튼형 전극과 같은 전극들을 착용하여 맥박, 심박수, 혈중 산소포화도, 피부온도, 소정의 시간적 근육활동 패턴과 같은 생리적 기능들을 측정한다. 센서에서 수집된 데이타는 마이크로프로세서로 보내지는데, 마이크로프로세서는 신발에 설치되거나, 또는 사용자에 의해 다른 위치에 설치된다. 마이크로프로세서는 송신기를 포함하고, 데이타 수신기와 무선통신하거나, 또는 운동장이나 코트 주변에 설치된 하나 이상의 안테나와 무선통신한다. 수집된 데이타는 안테나를 통해, 블루투스와 같은 표준 프로토콜을 사용하는 호스트 서버로 보내진다. 안테나는 생리데이타를 받는 외에도, 각 선수에 대한 송신기의 상대적인 각도위치를 결정하는데 이용된다. 호스트 서버는 이런 위치정보를 받아서 선수의 위치를 결정한다. 호스트 서버는 각 선수에 대해 받은 데이타를 처리하도록 프로그램되고, 이 데이타를 데이타베이스로 보내는데, 데이타베이스는 각 선수에 대한 파일들을 포함한다.
데이타베이스는 호스트서버로부터 수신한 각 선수의 생리 및 위치 데이타를 자동으로 저장한다. 바람직한 실시예에서, 인터넷을 통해 데이타베이스에 접속할 수 있고, 선수의 신체활동과 여러 선수의 활동을 추정하는데 이들 데이타를 실시간으로 이용할 수 있다. 예컨대, 시합이나 연습중에 특정 플레이 바로 뒤에 코치가 데이타베이스에 접속하고, 그 플레이중에 운동장이나 코트에서의 선수의 동작과 위치를 평가할 수 있다.
호스트 서버는 실시간 무선통신 대신 분리형 저장장치를 이용할 수도 있다. 이렇게 되면 선수가 무선통신범위를 벗어나도 시스템을 이용할 수 있다. 이런 시스템은 접속범위를 벗어나기 쉬운 육상선수나 사이클선수 등에 특히 유용하다. 이 경우, 훈련기간이 끝난 뒤 사용자는 데이타를 PC에 다운로드하거나 인터넷을 통해 데이타베이스에 다운로드할 수 있다.
이하, 첨부 도면들을 참조하여 본 발명에 대해 자세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
도 1-3에 따른 본 발명의 바람직한 일 실시예에 따른 시스템은 한명 이상의 운동선수로부터 생리정보를 수집하고 운동선수에 특유한 정보의 데이타베이스를 유지관리한다. 데이타베이스의 정보에 실시간으로 접근할 수 있고, 이 정보는 무선 네트웍을 이용해 생리센서, 모니터, 데이타베이스 및 유저 인터페이스들을 포함한 요소들에 연결된다. 이들 요소들은 실시간 위치 및/또는 생리 데이타를 선수와 트레이너가 사용할 수 있도록 데이타베이스에 실시간 전송한다. 이 시스템은 선수와 트레이너의 목표와 이 목표에 대해 마련된 행위를 기초로 선수와 트레이너에게 분석정보를 제공하고 안내하는데 사용된다.
도 1에 구체적으로 도시된 실시예에서, 시스템의 신발(10)에는 힘, 보폭, 발의 압력, 걸음수 및/또는 속도를 측정하는 센서(12)가 내장되어 있다. 이들 센서는 신발 깔창 밑에 있는 단단하거나 부드러운 판(14)에 부착되거나 내장된다. 센서는 마이크로프로세서/컨트롤러(16)에 연결되고, 마이크로프로세서/컨트롤러(16)는 데이타를 받아서 아날로그 신호를 디지탈신호로 변환하며 디지탈신호를 하나 이상의 안테나, 즉 수신기(18)로 보낸다. 다른 바람직한 실시예에서는, 데이타를 마이크로프로세서/컨트롤러나 기타 사용자가 착용하고 있는 메모리장치나, 수신기(18)에 임시로 저장할 수도 있다. 본 실시예는 저출력 송신기나 안테나의 범위를 벗어나 활동하기 쉬운 장거리 육상선수나 스키어에 특히 유용하다. 일 실시예에서, 수신기는 운동장이나 코트 주변에 배치된 여러개의 안테나를 포함한다. 다른 실시예에서, 수신기는 랩탑컴퓨터, PDA, 3G 휴대폰일 수도 있다. 데이타의 전송은 블루투스 프로토콜을 이용해 이루어지는 것이 바람직하다.
센서가 내장된 신발 이외에 또는 대신에, 무선 표면근전도 버튼형 전극과 같은 전극(20)을 피부에 붙여 맥박, 심박수, 혈중 산소포화도, 피부온도, 소정의 시간적 근육활동 패턴과 같은 생리기능들을 측정한다(도 3 참조). 이런 센서는 팔다리운동과 동작순서를 측정 및 감시하는데 사용될 수 있다. 센서에서 얻은 데이타는 마이크로프로세서(16)에 무선송신되고, 마이크로프로세서는 신발에 내장되거나 사용자의 다른 부위에 부착될 수 있다. 이런 센서를 통해 입수된 생리데이타는 신발장착 센서에서 전술한 바와 같이 처리된다.
단체경기에 특히 적합한 실시예에서, 마이크로프로세서/컨트롤러(16)는 운동장이나 코트 주변에 설치된 하나 이상의 방향성 안테나(18)와 무선통신한다(도 1 참조). 방향성 안테나란 안테나에 대한 송신기의 각도를 결정할 수 있는 안테나이다. 수집된 데이타는 블루투스와 같은 표준 프로토콜을 이용하는 마이크로프로세서에 의해 안테나로 송신되지만, 본 발명은 이에 한정되지 않는다. 안테나에서 수신된 데이타는 호스트 서버로 송신된다. 전술한 바와 같이, 바람직한 일 실시예에서 안테나는 각각의 선수에 대한 상대 각도를 결정하기에 적합하다. 호스트 서버는 이런 위치정보를 수신하고, GPS(global positioning systems)에 이용되는 것과 비슷한 방식으로 운동장이나 코트내의 각 선수의 위치를 결정한다. 이런 시간적 위치정보는 실시간으로 데이타베이스에 전송되거나 디스플레이되어 보인다.
호스트 서버(22)는 각 선수에 대해 수신된 데이타를 처리하도록 프로그램되고, 이들 데이타를 각 선수에 대한 파일을 담고 있는 데이타베이스로 전송한다. 위치정보의 경우, 풋볼팀의 공격라인이나 방어라인과 같은 특정 시나리오에 관련된 소정의 선수 집합들을 위한 파일을 생성할 수도 있다. 개인이나 그룹의 생리 및 위치 데이타를 호스트서버로부터 수신하면 이들 데이타는 자동으로 데이타베이스에 저장된다. 이런 데이타는 보안과 프라이버시를 위해 암호화하는 것이 바람직하다.
바람직한 실시예에서, 데이타베이스는 원격지에서 유지보수되고 인터넷을 통해 접속할 수 있으며, 개인이나 그룹의 신체활동에 액세스하는데 실시간으로 활용될 수 있다. 예컨대, 시합이나 연습중에 코치는 특정 플레이 직후에 바로 데이타베이스에 접속하여, 플레이중에 운동장이나 코트에서의 선수의 동작과 위치를 평가할 수 있다. 다른 경우로는, 시합이나 활동중에 선수의 생리기능들을 감시하여 피로를 감지할 수도 있다.
마이크로프로세서/컨트롤러 또는 호스트 서버는 선수가 움직이는 동안 데이타를 저장하는 메모리를 구비할 수도 있다. 이렇게 되면 선수가 안테나나 수신기의 범위를 벗어나도 데이타를 수집하여 데이타베이스에 전송할 수 있다. 이것은 접속범위를 벗어나 훈련하기 쉬운 육상선수, 사이클선수 등에 유용하다. 이런 시나리오에서는 훈련이 끝난 뒤, 사용자가 데이타를 PC, 3G 휴대폰, PDA 등에 다운로드받거나 인터넷을 통해 데이타베이스로 다운로드할 수 있다.
각 개인에 대한 데이타가 일단 데이타베이스에 저장되면 이들 데이타에 접속하여 운동 특성에 맞게 활용할 수 있다. 선수들은 개별적으로 데이타베이스를 활용해 훈련상황을 추적하거나, 심박수, 스플리트타임(split time) 등의 개별 활동요소들을 평가할 수 있다. 단체팀의 경우 이 정보를 이용해 단체 플레이의 결점을 확인하고, 플레이중이나 비시즌중에 선수의 신체상태를 원격지에서 추적할 수 있다. 본 발명의 다른 특징으로는, 방송매체를 이용해 시합 방송중에 플레이를 재구성하고 시합중에 단체나 개별 선수의 중요한 플레이를 하이라이트로 보는데 선수의 위치정보를 이용할 수 있다. 본 발명은 또한 플레이의 조정에 적용하여 특정 시간대에 운동장에서의 선수의 위치를 결정하는데 이용할 수도 있다.
이상 설명한 실시예는 어디까지나 예를 든 것일 뿐이고, 당업자라면 본 발명에 대한 수많은 변경이 가능할 것이므로, 본 발명은 어디까지나 특허청구범위에 의해 결정된다.

Claims (14)

  1. 사용자와 통신하고, 사용자의 생리기능을 검출하며 이에 응답해 생리 데이타신호를 생성하기에 적합한 하나 이상의 생리 센서;
    상기 센서와 통신하고, 센서로부터 생리 데이타신호를 수신하며 생리 데이타신호를 송신하기에 적합한 모니터;
    상기 모니터와 통신하는 데이타 송수신기; 및
    상기 데이타 송수신기와 통신하는 데이타베이스;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리감시시스템.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 모니터가 데이타 송수신기와 무선으로 통신하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리감시시스템.

  8. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 센서가 심박수, 호흡수, 혈중 산소농도, 근육활동, 피부온도, 체온으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 한가지 이상의 생리기능들을 검출하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리감시시스템.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 모니터가 센서로부터 수신한 하나 이상의 생리 데이타신호를 저장하는 메모리를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리감시시스템.
  10. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 모니터가 사용자의 신발에 설치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리감시시스템.
  11. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 모니터가 사용자에게 착용되는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리감시시스템.
  12. 제1항에 있어서, 데이타베이스의 데이타에 실시간으로 접속할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리감시시스템.
  13. 제1항에 있어서, 사용자와 데이타 송수신기가 원격지에서 데이타베이스에 접속할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리감시시스템.
  14. 한명 이상의 사용자의 위치를 결정하는 시스템에 있어서:
    제 1 사용자 부근의 제 1 수신기;
    상기 제 1 수신기와 통신하는 하나 이상의 송신기;
    상기 제 1 수신기와 통신하고, 송신기에 대한 제 1 사용자의 위치를 규정하는 제1 위치규정신호를 생성하는 신호 프로세서;
    상기 신호 프로세서와 통신하고, 이 프로세서로부터 제1 위치규정신호를 수신하는 데이타 송수신기; 및
    상기 데이타 송수신기와 통신하는 데이타베이스;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
