Claims (8)
- 하나의 필드의 각각의 픽셀의 휘도가 Z비트로써 표시되는 비디오 신호로부터, 전체 화면에서 Z비트 중 최초 비트만을 수집하여 취득되는 0과 1이 배열되는 제1서브필드가 구성되고, 또한 전체 화면에서 Z비트 중 제2비트만을 수집하여 취득되는 0과 1이 배열되는 제2서브필드가 구성되는 방식으로, 최초에서 Z번 째까지의 Z개의 서브필드를 형성하고, 각각의 서브필드에 가중치를 부여하며, 또한 소정의 가중치의 N배의 다수의 구동 펄스 또는 소정의 가중치의 N배의 시간폭을 갖는 다수의 구동 펄스를 출력함으로써, 모든 필드의 각각의 픽셀에서 계조적인 발광을 실행하는 디스플레이 장치로서,서브필드의 수 Z와 서브필드의 가중치 부여에 따라서 지정되는 모든 그레이 스케일 레벨 중에서 최소한 하나의 특정 그레이 스케일 레벨에서 최소한 2개의 연속적인 비발광 서브필드가 어텐셔널(attentional) 발광 서브필드 앞에 존재하는 경우에, 모든 그레이 스케일 레벨에서의 표준 기록 펄스 폭보다 더욱 넓은 어텐셔널 발광 서브필드의 기록 펄스 폭을 설정하는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 확대된 기록 펄스의 펄스 폭은 표준 기록 펄스의 펄스 폭 보다 약 20% 내지 80% 더 넓은 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 확대된 기록 펄스의 펄스 폭은 표준 기록 펄스의 펄스 폭 보다 약 60% 더 넓은 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 가중치가 소정의 수보다 큰 서브필드의 경우에 기록 펄스의 폭이 확대되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 소정 수는 3인 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 소정 수는 5인 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 소정 수는 10인 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제4항에 있어서,서브필드의 수 Z, 서브필드의 가중치 배수 N, 및 서브필드의 가중치 중에서, 최소한 하나가 상이한, 여러가지 필드에 대하여 하나의 필드 내의 서브필드의 시간 정보를 저장하는 시간 정보 소스(source)와,소정의 서브필드의 수 Z, 서브필드의 소정의 가중치 배수 N, 및 서브필드의 소정의 가중치 중, 최소한 하나에 따라서 시간 정보 소스로부터 적절한 서브필드 시간 정보를 선택하는 수단과,선택된 서브필드 시간 정보에 의해서, 하나의 필드 내에 배열되는 서브필드의 위치를 조정하는 수단을 추가로 포함하고, 또한이 것에 의하여 필드 간에 서브필드의 유지 기간이 하나의 필드 내의 대략 동일한 위치에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이 장치.
