Claims (15)
- 포토크로믹(photochromic) 층; 및
액정 분자 및 이방성 염료를 포함하고, 전압의 인가에 따라 수평 배향 상태와 수직 배향 상태의 사이를 스위칭하는 게스트호스트 액정층을 포함하고,
수평 배향 상태의 게스트호스트 액정층 내에서 액정 분자들의 광축은 서로 평행하며,
포토크로믹 층은 식 1을 만족하는 편광 가변 소자:

식 1에서 A는 △Tmax 파장에서의 자외선 조사 전의 포토크로믹 층의 투과도(%)이고, B는 △Tmax 파장에서의 자외선 조사 후의 포토크로믹 층의 투과도(%)이며, △Tmax 파장은 포토크로믹 층에 자외선 조사 전과 후의 투과도 차이가 가장 큰 지점의 파장을 의미하고, △Tmax 파장은 500 nm 내지 600 nm 범위 내이다. - 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 포토크로믹 층은 자외선의 조사에 따라 투과도를 가변하는 포토크로믹 물질을 포함하는 편광 가변 소자.
- 삭제
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 편광 가변 소자는 45% 내지 95% 범위 내의 편광도를 갖는 편광 상태와 0% 내지 10%의 편광도를 갖는 비 편광 상태의 사이를 스위칭하는 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 편광 가변 소자는 편광 상태에서 투과율이 15% 이하이고, 비 편광 상태에서 투과율이 35% 이상인 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 편광 가변 소자는 편광 상태와 비 편광 상태에서 각각 헤이즈가 10% 이하인 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 포토크로믹 층은 편광 상태에서 투과율이 60% 이하인 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 포토크로믹 층은 비 편광 상태에서 투과율이 80% 이상인 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 액정 및 이방성 염료는 편광 상태에서 수평 배향된 상태로 존재하는 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 액정 및 이방성 염료는 비 편광 상태에서 수직 배향된 상태로 존재하는 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 게스트호스트 액정층의 양면에 제 1 배향막과 제 2 배향막을 더 포함하고, 상기 제 1 배향막의 배향 축과 상기 제 2 배향막의 배향 축이 이루는 각도는 10도 이하인 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 게스트호스트 액정층의 양면에 제 1 전극 필름과 제 2 전극 필름을 더 포함하는 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 포토크로믹 층의 일면에 배치된 기판을 더 포함하는 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 13 항에 있어서, 상기 포토크로믹 층의 다른 일면에 배치된 기재층을 더 포함하는 편광 가변 소자.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 게스트호스트 액정층의 일면에 반사방지층을 더 포함하는 편광 가변 소자.
