- 층상 결정 구조를 갖는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물로 이루어지는 입자의 표면에, Al, Ti 및 Zr으로 이루어지는 군 중의 어느 1종 또는 2종 이상의 조합(이것을 「표면 원소A」라 함)이 존재하는 표면부를 구비한 입자를 포함하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체로서,
하기 측정 방법으로 측정되는 표면 LiOH량이 0.10wt% 미만이며, 또한, 하기 측정 방법으로 측정되는 표면 Li2CO3량이 0.25wt% 미만이며, 또한,
CuKα선을 사용한 X선 회절에 의해서 얻어지는 X선 회절 패턴에 있어서, 상기 리튬 금속 복합 산화물의 (104)면의 적분 강도에 대한, (003)면의 적분 강도의 비율이 1.15보다 크며, 또한,
유도 결합 플라스마(ICP) 발광 분석 장치로 측정해서 얻어지는 S량이, 상기 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체(100wt%)의 0.10wt% 미만인 것을 특징으로 하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체.

Winkler법을 참고로 해서 다음의 수순과 같이 적정을 행한다. 시료 10.0g을 이온 교환수 50㎖에 분산시키고, 15min 침지시킨 후, 여과하고, 여과액을 염산으로 적정한다. 그때, 지시약으로서 페놀프탈레인과 브로모페놀 블루를 사용해서, 여과액의 변색과 그때의 적정량을 기초로 해서 표면 LiOH량과 표면 Li2CO3량을 산출한다. - 제1항에 있어서,
탭 밀도(TD)가 2.0g/㎤보다 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
상기 리튬 금속 복합 산화물은, 일반식Li1 + xM1 - xO2(식 중, M은, Mn, Co, Ni, 주기율표의 제3족 원소로부터 제11족 원소의 사이에 존재하는 천이 원소, 및, 주기율표의 제3주기까지의 전형 원소로 이루어지는 군 중의 어느 1종 또는 2종 이상의 조합(이것을 「구성 원소M」이라 함))으로 표시되는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물인 것을 특징으로 하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
X선 광전자 분광 분석법(XPS)에 의해 측정되는, 구성 원소M의 농도(at%)(「CM」이라 한다. 구성 원소M이 2종류 이상인 경우는 농도의 합계)에 대한, 표면 원소A의 농도(at%)(「CA」라 한다. 표면 원소A가 2종류 이상인 경우는 농도의 합계)의 비율(CA/CM)이 0보다 크고 0.8보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
X선 광전자 분광 분석법(XPS)에 의해 측정되는, 구성 원소Ni의 농도(at%)(「CNi」라 함)에 대한, 표면 원소A의 농도(at%)(「CA」라 한다. 표면 원소A가 2종류 이상인 경우는 농도의 합계)의 비율(CA/CNi)이 0보다 크고 1.0보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,

CuKα1선을 사용한 X선 회절에 의해서 얻어지는 X선 회절 패턴을 사용해서 셰러의 식으로부터 계산되는, 상기 리튬 금속 복합 산화물의 (110)면의 결정자 사이즈에 대한, (003)면의 결정자 사이즈의 비율이 1.0보다 크며 또한 2.5보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
레이저 회절 산란식 입도 분포 측정법에 의해 측정해서 얻어지는 체적 기준 입도 분포에 따른 D50(「D50」이라 함)에 상당하는 크기의 이차입자로부터 하기 측정 방법에 의해서 구해지는 이차입자 면적에 대한, 하기 측정 방법에 의해서 구해지는 일차입자 면적의 비율(「일차입자 면적/이차입자 면적」이라 함)이 0.004∼0.035인 것을 특징으로 하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체.
(이차입자 면적의 측정 방법)
리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체를 전자현미경으로 관찰해, D50에 상당하는 크기의 이차입자를 랜덤하게 5개 선택하고, 당해 이차입자가 구상인 경우는 그 입자의 길이를 직경(㎛)으로 해서 면적을 계산하고, 당해 이차입자가 부정형인 경우에는 구형으로 근사를 해서 면적을 계산해, 당해 5개의 면적의 평균값을 이차입자 면적(㎛2)으로서 구한다.
(일차입자 면적의 측정 방법)
리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체를 전자현미경으로 관찰해, D50에 상당하는 크기의 이차입자 5개를 랜덤하게 선택하고, 선택된 이차입자 5개에서 일차입자를 100개 랜덤하게 선택하고, 화상 해석 소프트웨어를 사용해서 일차입자의 평균 입자경을 구하고, 그 값을 직경(㎛)으로 해, 구형 근사해서 면적을 계산해, 일차입자 면적(㎛2)으로서 구한다. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
표면 리튬량이 0.35wt% 미만인 것을 특징으로 하는 리튬 금속 복합 산화물 분체.
