Claims (12)
- 각 화소영역이 주화소영역과 보조화소영역으로 구분된 액정표시장치에 있어서,어레이기판의 상기 주화소영역에 형성된 제 1 공통전극과, 상기 제 1 공통전극과 프린지 전기장을 형성하도록 상기 제 1 공통전극 상에 형성된 제 1 화소전극과;상기 어레이기판의 상기 보조화소영역에 형성된 제 2 공통전극과, 상기 제 2 공통전극과 상기 주화소영역에 형성되는 프린지 전기장과 동일한 방향의 프린지 전기장을 형성하도록 상기 제 2 공통전극 상에 형성된 제 2 화소전극과;상기 어레이기판에 형성되며, 상기 제 1 및 2 화소전극에 각각 연결되는 제 1 및 2 스위칭소자와;대향기판의 상기 보조화소영역에 형성되며, 상기 제 2 화소전극과 수직 전기장을 형성하도록 구성된 제 3 공통전극과;상기 어레이기판과 대향기판 사이에 위치하는 네거티브 타입의 네마틱 액정을 포함하고,상기 주화소영역에 위치하는 액정은 초기에 수평 배향되며, 상기 보조화소영역에 위치하는 액정은 초기에 하이브리드 배향되고,상기 제 2 화소전극과 제 3 공통전극 사이에는 광시야각 구동 시 상기 수직 전기장이 형성되고 협시야각 구동 시 상기 수직 전기장은 형성되지 않는액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 및 2 화소전극은 각각 격자 형상을 갖고,상기 제 1 및 2 공통전극은 각각 평면 형상 또는 격자 형상을 갖는액정표시장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 화소전극의 격자창의 장축방향과, 상기 주화소영역에 위치한 액정의 어레이기판에서의 러빙방향은 45~90도의 각도를 이루며,상기 제 2 화소전극의 격자창의 장축방향과, 상기 보조화소영역에 위치한 액정의 어레이기판에서의 러빙방향은 45~90도의 각도를 이루는액정표시장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 화소전극의 격자창의 장축을 따라 연장된 제 1 격자살의 폭은 1~10㎛이며, 이웃하는 상기 제 1 격자살 사이의 이격간격은 1~20㎛이고,상기 제 2 화소전극의 격자창의 장축을 따라 연장된 제 2 격자살의 폭은 1~10㎛이며, 이웃하는 상기 제 2 격자살 사이의 이격간격은 1~20㎛인액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 화소영역의 양측에 배치되며, 상기 제 1 및 2 스위칭소자 각각에 연결되는 제 1 및 2 데이터배선과;상기 제 1 및 2 데이터배선과 교차하며, 상기 제 1 및 2 스위칭소자에 공통적으로 연결되는 게이트배선을 더욱 포함하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 화소영역의 일측에 배치되며, 상기 제 1 및 2 스위칭소자에 공통적으로 연결되는 데이터배선과;상기 데이터배선과 교차하며, 상기 제 1 및 2 스위칭소자 각각에 연결되는 제 1 및 2 게이트배선을 더욱 포함하는 액정표시장치.
- 영상표시단위영역이, 영상정보를 표시하는 3개의 영상표시영역과, 시야각을 조절하는 시야각조절영역으로 구분된 액정표시장치에 있어서,어레이기판의 상기 영상표시영역 각각에 형성된 제 1 공통전극과, 상기 제 1 공통전극과 프린지 전기장을 형성하도록 상기 제 1 공통전극 상에 형성된 제 1 화소전극과;상기 어레이기판의 상기 시야각조절영역에 형성된 제 2 공통전극과, 상기 제 2 공통전극과 상기 영상표시영역에 형성되는 프린지 전기장과 동일한 방향의 프린지 전기장을 형성하도록 상기 제 2 공통전극 상에 형성된 제 2 화소전극과;상기 어레이기판에 형성되며, 상기 제 1 및 2 화소전극에 각각 연결되는 제 1 및 2 스위칭소자와;대향기판의 상기 시야각조절영역에 형성되며, 상기 제 2 화소전극과 수직 전기장을 형성하도록 구성된 제 3 공통전극과;상기 어레이기판과 대향기판 사이에 위치하는 네거티브 타입의 네마틱 액정을 포함하고,상기 영상표시영역에 위치하는 액정은 초기에 수평 배향되며, 상기 시야각조절영역에 위치하는 액정은 초기에 하이브리드 배향되고,상기 제 2 화소전극과 제 3 공통전극 사이에는 광시야각 구동 시 상기 수직 전기장이 형성되고 협시야각 구동 시 상기 수직 전기장은 형성되지 않는액정표시장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 및 2 화소전극은 각각 격자 형상을 갖고,상기 제 1 및 2 공통전극은 각각 평면 형상 또는 격자 형상을 갖는액정표시장치.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 화소전극의 격자창의 장축방향과, 상기 영상표시영역에 위치한 액정의 어레이기판에서의 러빙방향은 45~90도의 각도를 이루며,상기 제 2 화소전극의 격자창의 장축방향과, 상기 시야각조절영역에 위치한 액정의 어레이기판에서의 러빙방향은 45~90도의 각도를 이루는액정표시장치.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 화소전극의 격자창의 장축을 따라 연장된 제 1 격자살의 폭은 1~10㎛이며, 이웃하는 상기 제 1 격자살 사이의 이격간격은 1~20㎛이고,상기 제 2 화소전극의 격자창의 장축을 따라 연장된 제 2 격자살의 폭은 1~10㎛이며, 이웃하는 상기 제 2 격자살 사이의 이격간격은 1~20㎛인액정표시장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 대향기판의 상기 영상표시영역 각각에는, R컬러필터, G컬러필터, B컬러필터가 형성되며,상기 대향기판의 상기 시야각조절영역은 투명한 상태를 갖는액정표시장치.
- 제 11 항에 있어서,상기 대향기판의 상기 시야각조절영역에는, R컬러필터, G컬러필터, B컬러필터가 형성되는 층에 대응하여 투명한 유기박막이 형성된액정표시장치.
