R1 및 R2는 각각 서로 독립적으로 H, 또는 1 내지 15개의 탄소 원자를 갖는 할로겐화된, CN-치환된 또는 비치환된 알킬 라디칼이고, 또한 이들 라디칼 중 하나 이상의 CH2 기는 서로 독립적으로, O 원자가 서로 직접적으로 연결되지 않는 방식으로, -C≡C-, -CO-, -CH=CH-, -O-, 에 의해 대체될 수 있고;

- 제 13 항에 있어서,
첨가제를 첨가하는 것을 추가로 포함하는, 액정 매질의 제조 방법.
