Claims (16)
- 시료 수용 말단부 및 커넥터 말단부를 구비한 전기화학 장치로서,
(a) 제 1 지지체로서, 상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면에 도포된 도전성 재료의 층을 구비한 제 1 지지체;
(b) 전기 저항 중간층, 및
(c) 제 2 지지체로서, 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면에 도포된 도전성 재료의 층을 구비한 제 2 지지체를 차례로 포함하고,
상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면 및 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면이 상기 전기 저항 중간층에 부착되어 있고;
상기 장치는 제 1 시료 공간을 구비하며, 상기 제 1 시료 공간은 상기 전기 저항 중간층을 관통하며 또한 마주보는 측면에서 비패턴(unpatterned) 제1 전극을 형성하는 상기 제1 지지체의 상기 도전성 재료의 일 부분 및 비패턴 제2 전극을 형성하는 상기 제2 지지체의 상기 도전성 재료의 일 부분과 경계를 접하고 있으며,
상기 커넥터 말단부는 제1 및 제2 커넥터를 구비하며, 상기 제1 커넥터는 계량기(meter)와 연결하기 위한 것으로 상기 제1 지지체로부터 연장된 두 개의 분리된 접촉 패드를 구비하고, 상기 제2 커넥터는 계량기와 연결하기 위한 것으로 상기 제2 지지체로부터 연장된 적어도 하나의 접촉 패드를 구비하며,
상기 제2 커넥터의 접촉 패드는 스트립의 평면에서 보여질 때 상기 제1 커넥터의 접촉 패드들 사이로 보이며,
상기 전기 저항 중간층은 상기 제1 및 제2 지지체 사이로 상기 제1 커넥터의 상기 접촉 패드들이 상기 제1 지지체로부터 연장되는 곳까지 연장되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치. - 시료 수용 말단부 및 커넥터 말단부를 구비한 전기화학 장치로서,
(a) 제 1 지지체로서, 상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면에 도포된 도전성 재료의 층을 구비한 제 1 지지체;
(b) 전기 저항 중간층, 및
(c) 제 2 지지체로서, 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면에 도포된 도전성 재료의 층을 구비한 제 2 지지체를 차례로 포함하고,
상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면 및 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면이 상기 전기 저항 중간층에 부착되어 있고;
상기 장치는 제 1 시료 공간을 구비하며, 상기 제 1 시료 공간은 상기 전기 저항 중간층을 관통하며 또한 마주보는 측면에서 비패턴(unpatterned) 제1 전극을 형성하는 상기 제1 지지체의 상기 도전성 재료의 일 부분 및 비패턴 제2 전극을 형성하는 상기 제2 지지체의 상기 도전성 재료의 일 부분과 경계를 접하고 있으며,
상기 커넥터 말단부는 제1 및 제2 커넥터를 구비하며, 상기 제1 커넥터는 두 개의 분리된 접촉 패드를 구비하고 상기 제2 커넥터는 적어도 하나의 접촉 패드를 구비하며,
상기 제1 및 제2 커넥터는 상기 장치의 공통 가장자리(common edge)로부터 연장되며 또한 이들 사이에 개방 공간(open space)을 구비하며, 상기 제2 커넥터의 상기 접촉 패드 또는 패드들은 스트립의 평면에서 보여질 때 상기 제1 커넥터의 접촉 패드들 사이에 존재하며, 상기 제1 커넥터의 도전성 부분과 상기 제2 커넥터의 도전성 부분이 상기 장치의 상기 커넥터 말단부내에서 마주보는 경우, 이들은 상기 전기 저항 중간층에 의해 분리되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치. - 시료 수용 말단부 및 커넥터 말단부를 구비한 전기화학 장치로서,
(a) 제 1 지지체로서, 상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면에 도포된 도전성 재료의 층을 구비한 제 1 지지체;
(b) 전기 저항 중간층, 및
(c) 제 2 지지체로서, 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면에 도포된 도전성 재료의 층을 구비한 제 2 지지체를 차례로 포함하고,
상기 제1 지지체, 상기 제2 지지체 및 상기 전기 저항 중간층은 제1 시료 공간을 한정하고;
상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면 및 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면이 상기 전기 저항 중간층에 부착되어 있고;
상기 제 1 지지체의 제 1 표면의 상기 도전성 재료가 상기 제1 시료 공간에서 제1 비패턴 전극을 형성하며 또한 상기 제 2 지지체의 제 1 표면의 상기 도전성 재료가 상기 시료 공간에서 제2 비패턴 전극을 형성하며;
상기 제1 지지체의 상기 커넥터 말단부가 상기 제1 지지체 위의 상기 도전성성 재료에 테스트 계량기를 접촉시키기 위한 두 개의 접촉 패드들을 구비하며, 상기 접촉 패드들은 테스트 스트립의 마주보는 가장자리들에 배치되며, 상기 제2 지지체의 상기 커넥터 말단부는 상기 제2 지지체 위의 상기 도전성 재료에 테스트 계량기를 접촉시키기 위한 하나의 접촉 패드를 구비하며;
상기 시료 공간을 제외하고, 상기 제1 지지체 및 상기 제2 지지체의 마주보는 도전성 부분들이 상기 전기 저항 중간층에 의해 분리되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치. - 제 3항에 있어서, 상기 제2 지지체의 상기 접촉 패드는 상기 테스트 스트립의 평면에서 보여질 때 상기 제1 지지체의 상기 접촉 패드들 사이에 존재하는 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 시료 공간에 배치된 시약을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 5항에 있어서, 상기 시약은 효소 및 산화환원 매개체를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 6항에 있어서, 상기 효소는 글루코스 옥시다제인 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 지지체 위의 상기 도전성 재료는 금, 탄소, 은, 팔라듐 및 플라티늄으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 8항에 있어서, 상기 제2 지지체 위의 상기 도전성 재료는 상기 제1 지지체 위의 상기 도전성 재료와 같거나 다르며, 금, 탄소, 은, 팔라듐 및 플라티늄으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 전기 저항 중간층은 50 내지 500 ㎛의 두께를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 시료 공간은 1 ㎕ 미만의 부피를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 시료 공간에 대하여 적층 구조(stacked configuration)로 형성된 제2 시료 공간을 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 시료 공간에 대하여 동일 평면 위치에 형성된 추가의 시료 공간을 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 시료 공간은 500 nl 미만의 부피를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 14항에 있어서, 상기 제1 시료 공간은 100 내지 300 nl의 부피를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 시료 공간은 상기 전기 저항 중간층에 천공된 개구부의 마주보는 측면들에 의해 한정되고, 상기 마주보는 측면들은 직선이며 서로 평행한 것을 특징으로 하는 전기화학 장치.
