- 매트릭스 형태로 배치된 복수의 화소전극들 및 상기 화소전극들과 전기적으로 연결된 복수의 박막 트랜지스터들을 구비하고, 상기 화소전극들 각각은 하부전극, 상기 하부전극으로부터 제1 방향으로 소정거리 이격된 상부전극 및 상기 하부전극과 상기 상부전극을 전기적으로 연결시키는 연결부를 포함하는 제1 기판;상기 제1 기판과 마주보도록 전면에 형성되어 상기 화소전극들과의 사이에서 전기장을 형성시키는 공통전극, 상기 하부전극과 대응되는 위치에 상기 제1 방향을 따라 형성된 하부 도메인 분할부 및 상기 상부전극과 대응되는 위치에 상기 제1 방향과 수직한 제2 방향을 따라 형성된 상부 도메인 분할부를 포함하는 제2 기판; 및상기 제1 및 제2 기판 사이에 개재된 액정들로 이루어진 액정층을 포함하고,상기 상부전극은 상부 메인 몸체부 및 상기 상부 메인 몸체부의 상기 제2 방향으로의 양단에 형성되어 전기장의 방향을 제어하는 상부 전기장 제어부를 포함하고, 상기 상부 전기장 제어부는 상기 상부 메인 몸체부의 양단으로부터 상기 제2 방향을 따라 내측으로 함몰되고, 상기 상부 도메인 분할부를 중심으로 대칭되는 형상을 갖고,상기 상부 도메인 분할부는 상기 상부전극의 중심을 가로지르도록 상기 제2 방향을 따라 형성되고 상기 상부 전기장 제어부의 함몰된 부분은 상기 상부 도메인 분할부를 지나는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시패널.
- 제19항에 있어서, 상기 하부전극은 하부 메인 몸체부 및 상기 하부 메인 몸체부의 상기 제1 방향으로의 양단에 형성되어 전기장의 방향을 제어하는 하부 전기 장 제어부를 포함하고,상기 하부 전기장 제어부는 상기 하부 메인 몸체부의 양단으로부터 상기 제1 방향을 따라 내측으로 함몰되고, 상기 하부 도메인 분할부를 중심으로 대칭형상을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시패널.
