Claims (17)
- 액정이 스플레이 상태에서 밴드 상태로 전이되는 배향구간 및 상기 액정이 상기 밴드 상태에서 영상을 표시하는 정상동작구간을 갖는 액정표시장치에 있어서,스토리지 전극 및 데이터 전압이 인가되는 화소 전극이 형성된 제1 기판, 상기 액정을 사이에 두고 상기 제1 기판과 대향하며 공통 전극이 형성된 제2 기판을 포함하는 액정표시패널; 및상기 배향구간에서 상기 공통 전극에 상기 데이터 전압보다 높은 전위의 제1 배향 전압을 인가하고 상기 스토리지 전극에 상기 데이터 전압보다 낮은 전위의 제2 배향 전압을 인가하는 전원 공급부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전원 공급부는 상기 정상동작구간에서 상기 공통 전극 및 상기 스토리지 전극에 상기 제1 배향 전압보다 낮고 상기 제2 배향 전압보다 높은 전위의 공통 전압을 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 데이터 전압은 상기 제1 배향 전압과 상기 제2 배향 전압 사이에서 상기 공통 전압을 기준으로 스윙되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 제1 배향 전압과 상기 제2 배향 전압은 20V 이상의 전위차를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 제1 배향 전압은 18V ~ 22V이고, 상기 제2 배향 전압은 -3V ~ -7V이고, 상기 공통 전압은 5V ~ 9V이고, 상기 데이터 전압은 0V에서 16V 사이에서 스윙하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 전원 공급부는상기 제1 배향 전압을 발생하는 제1 배향 전압 발생부;상기 제2 배향 전압을 발생하는 제2 배향 전압 발생부;상기 공통 전압을 발생하는 공통 전압 발생부;상기 제1 배향 전압 발생부 및 상기 공통 전압 발생부와 선택적으로 연결되고, 상기 공통 전극과 연결되는 제1 스위칭부; 및상기 제2 배향 전압 발생부 및 상기 공통 전압 발생부와 선택적으로 연결되고, 상기 스토리지 전극과 연결되는 제2 스위칭부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 제1 스위칭부는 상기 배향구간에서 상기 제1 배향 전압 발생부와 연결되고, 상기 제2 스위칭부는 상기 배향구간에서 상기 제2 배향 전압 발생부와 연결되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2 스위칭부는 상기 정상동작구간에서 상기 공통 전압 발생부와 연결되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 액정표시패널은 상기 제1 기판에 형성된 게이트 라인, 데이터 라인 및 상기 게이트 라인 및 데이터 라인에 연결된 박막 트랜지스터를 포함하며,상기 전원 공급부는 상기 박막 트랜지스터의 구동을 제어하는 게이트 온 전압 및 게이트 오프 전압을 발생하는 게이트 전압 발생부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 제1 배향 전압은 상기 게이트 온 전압이며, 상기 제2 배향 전압은 상기 게이트 오프 전압인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 제1 기판은절연 기판 상에 형성된 상기 게이트 라인 및 상기 스토리지 전극;상기 게이트 라인 및 상기 스토리지 전극 상에 형성된 게이트 절연막;상기 게이트 절연막 상에 형성된 상기 데이터 라인;상기 데이터 라인 상에 형성된 보호막; 및상기 보호막 상에 형성된 상기 화소 전극을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액 정표시장치.
- 액정이 스플레이 상태에서 밴드 상태로 전이되는 배향구간 및 상기 액정이 상기 밴드 상태에서 영상을 표시하는 정상동작구간을 갖는 액정표시장치의 구동 방법에 있어서,영상을 표시하는 액정표시패널은 스토리지 전극 및 데이터 전압이 인가되는 화소 전극이 형성된 제1 기판, 상기 액정을 사이에 두고 상기 제1 기판과 대향하며 공통 전극이 형성된 제2 기판을 포함하며,상기 배향구간에 대응하여 상기 공통 전극에는 상기 데이터 전압보다 높은 전위의 제1 배향 전압을 인가하고, 상기 스토리지 전극에는 상기 데이터 전압보다 낮은 전위의 제2 배향 전압을 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서, 상기 정상동작구간에 대응하여 상기 공통 전극 및 상기 스토리지 전극에 상기 제1 배향 전압보다 낮고 상기 제2 배향 전압보다 높은 전위의 공통 전압을 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서, 상기 데이터 전압은 상기 제1 배향 전압과 상기 제2 배향 전압 사이에서 상기 공통 전압을 기준으로 스윙하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 제1 배향 전압과 상기 제2 배향 전압은 20V 이상의 전위차를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서, 상기 제1 배향 전압은 18V ~ 22V이고, 상기 제2 배향 전압은 -3V ~ -7V이고, 상기 공통 전압은 5V ~ 9V이고, 상기 데이터 전압은 0V에서 16V 사이에서 스윙하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
