Claims (15)
- - 소비량이 측정될 윤활유를 적어도 하나의 방사성 트레이서로 표지하는 단계;- 엔진(2)의 하류 부분에서 방출되는 가스에 존재하는 방사성 트레이서의 양을 측정하는 단계; 및- 상기 측정하는 단계에서 측정한 트레이서의 양으로부터 엔진의 윤활유 소비량을 구하는 단계;를 포함하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 측정하는 방법에 있어서,상기 엔진에서 방출되는 가스에 존재하는 방사성 트레이서의 양을 측정하는 단계는,- 상기 가스를, 방사성 트레이서 입자를 물리적으로 억류할 수 있는 트랩(7)과 접촉하게 하는 단계로서, 상기 트랩(7)은 자동차용 입자 필터인 단계;- 상기 트랩(7)에 억류된 방사성 트레이서로부터 방출되는 방사능을 검출하고 방출된 방사능을 측정할 수 있는 거리에 설치되는 검출기(10)에 의하여, 엔진이 작동 중이고 엔진에서 방출되는 가스가 상기 트랩과 접촉하고 있는 상태에서 연속적으로 트랩에서 방출되는 방사능을 측정하는 단계; 및- 상기 검출기(10)에 의해 얻어진 측정값을 엔진의 윤활유 소비율로 변환할 수 있도록 프로그램된 컴퓨터로 전송하는 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 트랩은 금속 케이스 내에 고정되는 적어도 하나의 필터링 요소를 포함하며, 상기 필터링 요소는 다공성 구조로 구성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 윤활유에 혼합된 방사성 트레이서는, 브롬 82, 테크네튬 99-m 및 게르마늄-69 중 하나를 포함하는 반감기가 짧은 방사성 원소인 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 방법.

- 제3항에 있어서,상기 테크네튬 99-m은 나트륨 과테크네튬염(NaTcO4)의 수용액 형태로 윤활유에 혼합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 테크네튬 99-m은 나노미터 크기로, 탄소에 의해 대기로부터 차단되는 입자형태로 윤활유에 혼합되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 윤활유에 혼합되는 방사성 트레이서는 게르마늄-68 및 게르마늄-69에서 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 윤활유에 혼합되는 방사성 트레이서는 적어도 게르마늄-68 또는 게르마늄-69를 포함하는 적어도 하나의 테트라알킬 게르만 형태인 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 방사성 트레이서는 상기 윤활유에 혼합되기 전에 중성자 활성 또는 양성자 빔에 의해 활성화된 원소 혹은 상기 원소를 포함하는 화합물인 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 방법.
- - 적어도 하나의 방사성 트레이서를 윤활유에 혼합하는 수단;- 엔진의 하류 부분에서 방출되는 연소가스 내에 존재하는 방사성 트레이서의 양을 측정하는 수단; 및- 상기 측정하는 수단에서 측정한 트레이서의 양으로부터 엔진의 윤활유 소비량을 구하는 수단;을 포함하는 내연기관(2)의 윤활유 소비량을 측정하는 장치에 있어서,(i) 상기 엔진(2)의 하류 부분에 설치되어 엔진에서 방출된 연소 가스와 접촉하고 상기 가스에 존재하는 방사성 트레이서 입자를 물리적으로 억류할 수 있는, 자동차용 입자 필터인 트랩(7);(ii) 상기 트랩에 억류된 방사성 트레이서 입자가 방출하는 방사능을 엔진이 작동 중이고 엔진에서 방출되는 가스가 상기 트랩과 접촉하고 있는 상태에서 연속적으로 측정할 수 있는 거리에 설치되어 있는, 방사능을 검출하는 검출기(10); 및(iii) 상기 검출기(10)에 기능적으로 연결되어, 검출기에 의해 기록된 정보를 바탕으로 엔진의 윤활유 또는 첨가제 소비량을 계산할 수 있도록 프로그램된 컴퓨터(11);를 포함하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 트랩(7)은 금속 케이스 내에 고정되는 적어도 하나의 필터링 요소를 포함하며, 상기 필터링 요소는 다공성 구조로 구성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 트랩(7)은 엔진의 연소 가스 배기 라인 또는 분기 라인에 존재하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 윤활유 소비량을 연속적으로 측정하기 위한 장치.
