Description
모든 출력 속도에서 엔진과 트랜스미션 사이의 많은 동력 관리는 변속 효율성을 위해 필요하다. 순수 기계적인 구동은 별개의 속도 비율에 기인하여 엔진의 가용 동력의 유효 사용을 보장하기에 불충분하며, 순수 전기적인 구동은 더 높은 작동 속도들에서 내재적으로 더 낮은 효율을 가진다.
미국특허 제 6,592,484호(차이(Tsai)등)의 기재에 의하면 평행 하이브리드 트랜스미션은 복합유성기어 두 개의 멀티디스크 클러치 및 한 쌍의 밴드클러치를 이용하여 다양한 모드에서 작동된다. 차이의 특허에서는 단일 전기장치를 모터 또는 기계적으로 상기 복합유성기어세트의 선기어(sun gear)들을 연결하는 발전기로서 사용하였기 때문에 동시에 전기 발전기 및 전기 운행기능은 제공되지 않는다. 상기와 같은 설계가 상기 엔진 및 최종구동장치 사이에서 다양한 트랜스미션이 연속적으로 이루어짐 에도 불구하고 배터리 저장커패시터에 의해 제한된다.
또한 미국특허 제 6,428,438호(보웬(Bowen)), 캐나다특허 제 2,435,450호(보웬(Bowen) 및 미국특허 제 5,285,111호(셔먼(Sherman))에는 모터 또는 발전기 기능을 하는 단일장치를 구비한 하이브리드 시스템에 대해 기재되어 있다. 차이가 출원한 명세서의 기재에 의해 작동모드는 전기발전 및 전기운행이 동시에 이루어지는 것이 불가능하다.
미국특허 제 5,704,440호(어번(Urban)등)는 평행 전기 및 기계 시스템을 구비하는 것에 대하여 기재하고 있다. 상기 전기시스템은 한 쌍을 전기모터를 구성하며 기계적으로 종래의 트랜스미션의 입력에 연결되고 발전기는 풀리(pulley) 및 클러치부를 통한 엔진출력샤프트의 일말단에 연결된다. 엔진, 전기적 및 전기적 보충엔진모드를 위해 배열하는 것은 전기적-기계적 부재만큼 연속적이고 다양한 트랜스미션 모드이다. 상기 어번의 명세서에서는 같이 상기 엔진, 발전기 및 출력에 연결되는 적어도 세 개의 부재를 구비하는 유성기어세트의 결함 및 상기 세 개의 부재 사이에 동력을 분배하고 보다 효율적인 전기적-기계적으로 연속적이고 다양한 트랜스미션에 관하여 기재하고 있다.
미국특허 제 948,436호(토마스(Thomas)등)에서는 전기-기계적 연속적인 다양한 트랜스미션에 대하여 기재하고 있다. 토마스는 더블 유성기어세트 및 상기 제 1모터/발전기에 연결된 클러치를 사용하여 입력 분할/출력모드로부터 출력 분할/입력 모드로 변환한다. 낮은 범위에서 상기 제 1 모터/발전기는 발전기로서 작동하고 상기 제 2 모터/발전기는 모터로서 작동한다. 높은 범위에서는 상기한 것과 반대로 작동한다. 차량속도범위는 상기한 두 가지 범위를 포함한다. 상술한 속도 범위의 변환의 법칙으로 인해 성능 및 효율이 바람직한 범위에서 최적화될 수 없다. 보다 나은 배열은 성능 및 효율 최적화되는 낮거나 높은 범위에서 다운스트림(downstream)범위 분할기 입력-분할/출력 연결 레이아웃을 사용한다. 추가적인 모드에 있어서 모터/발전기는 상기 엔진을 구비한 차량이 정지하는 것이 상기한 발명에서는 제공되지 않는데 이는 전기적 에너지 저장장치 및 차량트레인으로부터 엔진을 차단하는 수단으로 인해 발생한다. 또한 상기 설계로부터의 결함은 차량의 이동으로 엔진이 재시동 된다.
미국특허 제 6,371,878호(보웬(Bowen)) 에서는 전기-기계적으로 연속적이고 다양한 추가적인 출력(차동)을 발생하는 제 3 모터 발전기와 같은 두 개의 모터/발전기 한 쌍의 유성기어세트를 구비하는 트랜스미션에 대하여 기재하고 있다. 동력의 상기 복합분할기는 하나의 전기적 및 상기 엔진으로부터 상기 출력으로 향한 두 개의 기계적 경로를 발생한다. 두 개의 속도범위는 모터/발전기 기능의 전환을 필요로 하는 제 1 및 제 2 범위 사이에서 전기적 동력 흐름의 방향을 전환하는 것에 의해 이루어진다. 토마스는 미국 특허 제 948,436에서 상기 구성은 어떠한 바람직한 범위에서도 최적화될 수 없을 것이라 기재하였다. 보웬은 상기 제 1 모터/발전기를 위한 잠금브레이크(lockup brake)가 기계적으로만 흐르지만 상기 잠금브레이크는 상기 제 1모터/발전기가 높은 범위에서 발전기 모드 일 때만 기능 한다고 기재하였다. 보웬은 차량 운행시 엔진의 온오프를 반복하기 위한 어떠한 구상도 하지 않았다.
미국특허 제 5,558,595호(슈미트(Schmidt)등)에서는 복합분할하며 전기적-기계적으로 연속적이고 다양한 트랜스미션에 대하여 기재하고 있다. 상기 슈미트의 특허가 한 쌍의 클러치를 이용하여 상기 복합유성 부재의 기능을 전환함 에도 불구하고 토마스의 미국특허 제 948,436호 및 보웬의 미국특허 제 6,371,878에서는 상기 두 개의 모터/발전기의 작동방법이 원하는 속도범위에 따라서 전환할 수 있다. 또한 낮은 범위 및 높은 범위에서 작동할 수 있도록 구성하도록 절충하는 것이 필요할 수 있다. 슈미트는 기계적인 동력 경로를 제공하는 잠금브레이크를 기재하고 있지만 0RPM 또는 0RPM 정도에서 동력을 생성하는 상기 제 1 모터/발전기의 성능에 의존하고 있다. 상기 차량이 상기한 속도에서 고정한다면 기계적 잠금장치 없이 상기 모터/발전기는 정지할 것이다. 슈미트는 차량이 작동할 때 엔진의 온오프를 반복하는 방법을 기재하지 않고 있다.
미국특허 제 6,478,705호(홈즈(Holmes))에서는 엔진 및 두 개의 모터/발전기를 연결하는 두 개의 유성기어세트를 구비한 전기적으로 다양한 트랜스미션에 대해 기재하고 있다. 슈미트의 미국특허 제 5,558,595호 및 보웬의 미국특허 제 6,371,878호에 있어서 상기 모터/발전기의 법칙은 낮은 범위 및 높은 범위를 제공하는 것에 의해 전환되기 때문에 동일한 제한을 제공하게 된다. 높은 범위가 복합분할시스템으로서 상기 시스템을 배열할 때 낮은 범위는 입력-분할/출력 연결시스템을 배열한다. 상기 두 개의 모드의 전환은 상기 모터/발전기 중 하나의 0인 속도 지점에서 발생하며 상기 모터/발전기가 0RPM 이나 0RPM 정도에서 동력을 발생하는 것이 요구된다. 잠금브레이크가 상기 설계에서 제외되기 때문에 상기 차량이 상기 속도에서 고정된다면 상기 모터/발전기는 정지한다.
보웬의 미국특허 제 6,361,878호, 슈미트의 미국특허 제 5,558,595호 및 홈즈의 미국특허 제 6,478,705호에서도 전기적 운행모드에서 상기 엔진이 정지하며 모터/발전기 기능이 유지되는 시간을 확장하기 위해 전기적 저장유니트로부터 동력이 저장되는 것에 대하여 기재하고 있지 않다.
상기 EMCVT는 주 동력 입력(main power input)으로부터만 입수할 수 있는 경우보다 더 큰 토크 출력을 제공하기 위해, 상기 주 동력 입력(전형적으로 엔진)과 결합되는 에너지 저장 유닛으로부터의 동력을 조정하는 클러치 및 브레이크 시스템을 포함한다.
Claims (16)
- 전기 기계적으로 연속으로 변화가능한 트랜스미션으로서:a) 엔진으로부터 동력을 받는 입력(40)과;b) 주 출력 샤프트(main output shaft: 26)와;c) 발전기(22)와;d) 상기 입력(40), 주 출력 샤프트(26) 및 발전기(22) 각각에 결합되는 유성 기어 세트(planetary gear set: 10)와;e) 고정된 속도비를 갖는 기어 세트(28)에 의해 상기 주 출력 샤프트(26)에 결합되는 모터(24)와;f) 배터리 뱅크(battery bank: 130)와 제어기(150)를 포함하고, 상기 발전기(22) 및 모터(24)에 결합되어, 상기 발전기(22)와 모터(24)로부터 동력을 받아들이고, 상기 발전기(22)와 모터(24)로 동력을 공급하며, 상기 발전기(22)와 모터(24) 사이의 동력 흐름이 상기 제어기(150)에 의해 제어되며, 상기 배터리 뱅크(130)는 상기 입력(40)으로부터 동력을 흡수하는 것 또는 제동(braking)으로부터 에너지를 흡수하는 것에 의해 충전될 수 있는 에너지 저장 시스템(100)과;g) 상기 유성 기어 세트(10)의 두 요소들에 결합되고, 상기 두 요소들을 같이 체결하도록 작동하는 분할 속도 클러치(split speed clutch: 180)와;h) 상기 발전기(22)에 결합되며, 상기 발전기(22)를 잠거 회전하는 것을 막도로 작동하는 발전기 잠금 브레이크(80)와;i) 상기 발전기(22)와 모터(24) 사이에 결합되고, 잠금모드에서 상기 발전기(22)를 상기 모터(24)에 체결하도록 작동하는 발전기 출력 클러치(170); 및j) 상기 유성 기어 세트(10)의 일 요소와 상기 주 출력 샤프트(26) 사이에 결합되고, 상기 유성 기어 세트(10)의 일 요소를 상기 주 출력 샤프트(26)에 체결하여 상기 유성 기어 세트(10)로 하여금 상기 발전기(22), 입력(40) 및 주 출력 샤프트(26) 사이에 동력을 분할하게 하도록 작동하는 기계 구동 클러치(90);를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 기계적으로 연속으로 변화가능한 트랜스미션.

- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 주 출력 샤프트(26)에 결합되며, 상기 트랜스미션을 위한 둘 또는 그 이상의 작동범위를 갖는 범위 분할기 시스템(range splitter system)을 더 포함하며, 상기 범위 분할기 시스템은 유성 기어 세트(30), 저속 클러치(32) 및 고속 클러치(34)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 기계적으로 연속으로 변화가능한 트랜스미션.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 재생 조향 시스템(regenerative steering system)을 더 포함하며, 상기 재생 조향 시스템은 상기 주 출력 샤프트(26)에 결합되는 조향 유성 기어장치(60), 상기 조향 유성 기어장치(60)에 결합되는 제로 샤프트(58) 및 상기 제로 샤프트(58)에 결합되는 조향 모터(56)를 포함하며,상기 조향 모터(56)는, i) 상기 제로 샤프트(58)가 일 방향으로 회전하도록또는 ii) 상기 제로 샤프트(58)가 다른 방향으로 회전하도록 또는 iii) 상기 제로 샤프트(58)가 회전하는 것을 방지하도록 작동하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 기계적으로 연속으로 변화가능한 트랜스미션.

- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 발전기(22)와 모터(24)는 상기 주 출력 샤프트(26)의 둘레에 동축으로 배치되며, 상기 입력(40)은 상기 주 출력 샤프트(26)의 일 단부에 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 기계적으로 연속으로 변화가능한 트랜스미션.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 입력(40)에 연결되어, 상기 트랜스미션의 출력 방향을 역전시키는 기어드 리버서(geared reverser: 190)를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 기계적으로 연속으로 변화가능한 트랜스미션.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 주 출력 샤프트(26)에 연결되어, 상기 트랜스미션의 출력 방향을 역전시키는 기어드 리버서(geared reverser: 190)를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 기계적으로 연속으로 변화가능한 트랜스미션.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 분할 속도 클러치(180)가 결합될 때, 상기 발전기(22)는 시동 모터(starting motor)로 작동하고, 상기 입력(40)에 동력을 전달하는 것을 특징으로 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 기계적으로 연속으로 변화가능한 트랜스미션.
