Claims (9)
- 감마 곡선 LUT(Look Up Table)를 저장하는 감마 곡선 LUT 저장부 및 계조값에 따른 휘도값이 역감마 곡선을 갖도록 보정하는 역감마 보정부를 포함하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 계조 표현 장치에 있어서,상기 감마 곡선 LUT 저장부에는상기 계조값에 따른 기준 휘도값과 패널에 표시되는 실제 휘도값에 해당하는 감마 곡선 데이터를 저장하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 계조 표현 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 계조 표현 장치는 디더링 또는 오차 확산를 이용하여 계조의 표현력을 높이는 하프토닝 장치를 더 포함하며,상기 실제 휘도값을 갖는 n 및 n+m번째 계조를 추출하고, 상기 계조의 중간값인 n+1,..,n+m-1의 계조는 하프토닝 장치를 이용하여 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 계조 표현 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 계조값에 따른 상기 실제 휘도값은상기 계조값이 패널에 표시될 때, 휘도 측정 장치를 이용하여 직접 측정된 값인 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 계조 표현 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 계조 표현 장치는 한 프레임 동안 리셋 기간, 어드레스 기간 및 서스테인 기간으로 이루어진 다수개의 서브 필드들을 선택적으로 온/오프시켜 계조를 표현하며,상기 계조값에 따른 상기 실제 휘도값은상기 각 서브 필드에 해당하는 리셋 기간 및 어드레스 기간의 휘도값을 측정하고, 상기 각 서브 필드에 해당하는 서스테인 기간의 하나의 펄스에 해당하는 휘도값을 측정한 후,상기 측정값들을 이용하여 구하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 계조 표현 장치.
- 감마 곡선 LUT(Look Up Table)를 저장하는 감마 곡선 LUT 저장 단계 및 계조값에 따른 휘도값이 역감마 곡선을 갖도록 보정하는 역감마 보정 단계를 포함하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 계조 표현 방법에 있어서,상기 감마 곡선 LUT 저장 단계는상기 계조값에 따른 기준 휘도값을 구하는 단계;패널에 표시되는 실제 휘도값을 구하는 단계; 및상기 기준 휘도값 및 실제 휘도값에 해당하는 감마 곡선 데이터를 저장하는 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 계조 표현 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 계조 표현 방법은상기 실제 휘도값을 갖는 n 및 n+m번째 계조를 추출하는 실제 휘도값 추출 단계 및디더링 또는 오차 확산를 이용하여 상기 계조의 중간값인 n+1,..,n+m-1의 계조를 생성하는 하프토닝 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 계조 표현 방법.
