Description
한편, 본 고안은 상술한 특정의 바람직한 실시예에 한정되지 아니하며, 청구범위에서 청구하는 본 고안의 요지를 벗어남이 없이 당해 발명이 속하는 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 누구든지 변경 실시가 가능할 것이다.
Claims (8)
- 액정기판을 구성하는 하부기판의 화소부에는 간격을 갖는 다수 개의 슬릿(Slit)이 형성되고,투명전극이 덮여진 상부기판의 컬러 필터부(Color Filter)에는 상기 슬릿(Slit)에 대하여 일정 각도를 갖고 교차하는 구조로 스트라이프 형상의 밸리(Valley)이 형성되며,상기 상부기판 및 하부기판의 상호 마주보는 면에는 수직배향제가 도포되어 상호 합착하고 그 사이에는 액정이 주입되어 있으며,상기 상부기판 및 하부기판의 외면에는 상호 수직인 투과축을 갖는 편광판이 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 하부기판에 형성된 슬릿(Slit) 및 상기 상부기판에 형성된 밸리(Valley) 상호 간의 각도는 45°이하의 값을 갖도록 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 하부기판에 형성된 슬릿(Slit)의 간격 및 폭은 5um 이하로 이루어지고, 상기 상부기판에 형성된 밸리(Valley)의 폭은 5um∼20um로 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 하부기판에 형성된 슬릿(Slit) 및 상기 상부기판에 형성된 밸리(Valley)는 멀티 도메인(Multi-domain)을 이루기 위하여 상기 밸리가 지그재그(Zig-zag) 형태가 되거나, 상기 슬릿이 지그재그 형태가 되도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 하부기판 및 상부기판과 편광판의 사이에는 일축 위상 보상판 또는 이축 위상 보상판이 포함되고, 상기 일축 위상 보상판은 Rth 값이 40nm∼800nm 영역을 포함하며, 상기 이축 위상 보상판은 Rth 값이 150nm∼200nm 영역을 포함하도록 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 액정층의 두께는 2um∼6um 정도로 이루어짐과 더불어, 상기 두께와 액정층의 굴절률 이방성의 곱은 200nm∼500nm인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 액정은 음의 유전율 이방성을 갖으며, 그 값은 -2∼-10 사이인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 상부기판 및 하부기판의 외면에 형성된 편광판의 투과축은 상기 슬릿(Slit) 또는 밸리(Valley)와 30°내지 60°의 형성 각도를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
