Claims (7)
- 입력되는 한 프레임의 영상신호를 복수의 서브필드로 나누어 구동하는 플라즈마 표시 장치의 구동 방법에 있어서,(a) 제1 역감마 곡선에 입력 영상 신호를 매핑하여 제1 영상신호를 생성하는 단계;(b) 상기 제1 영상신호가 어드레스 소비전력이 높은 데이터 인지를 판단하는 단계;(c) 상기 단계(b)에서 어드레스 소비전력이 낮은 데이터로 판단된 경우, 상기 제1 영상신호를 상기 플라즈마 표시 장치에 표시하는 단계;(d) 상기 단계(b)에서 어드레스 소비전력이 높은 데이터로 판단된 경우, 감마 게인을 상기 제1 역감마 곡선에 곱하여 제2 역감마 곡선을 생성하는 단계;(e) 상기 제2 역감마 곡선에 상기 입력 영상 신호를 매핑하여 제2 영상신호를 생성하여 출력하는 단계; 및(f) 상기 제2 영상신호를 사용하여 부하율을 계산하고, 계산된 부하율에 따라 유지방전 펄스의 수를 산출하여 출력하는 단계를 포함하는 플라즈마 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 단계(b)에서 상기 제1 영상신호가 어드레스 소비전력이 높은 데이터 인지의 판단은 한 프레임의 영상신호 데이터 중에서 같은 칼럼의 인접하는 상하 라인의 서브필드 데이터를 이용하는 플라즈마 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 삭제
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 감마 게인은 1 보다 작은 값을 가지는 플라즈마 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 복수의 제1 및 제2 전극과, 상기 제1 및 제2 전극에 교차하여 형성되는 복수의 제3 전극을 포함하는 플라즈마 패널;입력 영상 신호를 제1 역감마 곡선에 매핑시켜 제1 영상신호를 생성하고, 상기 제1 영상신호가 어드레스 소비전력이 높은 데이터 인지를 판단하는 제어부;상기 제어부로부터 생성되는 제어신호에 대응하여 상기 제1, 제2 및 제3 전극을 구동하는 구동부를 포함하며,상기 제어부는,상기 제1 영상신호가 어드레스 소비전력이 낮은 데이터로 판단된 경우에는 상기 제1 영상신호를 사용하여, 부하율을 계산하고 계산된 부하율에 따라 유지방전 펄스의 수를 산출하여 출력하고상기 제1 영상신호가 어드레스 소비전력이 높은 데이터로 판단된 경우에, 감마 게인을 상기 제1 역감마 곡선에 곱하여 제2 역감마 곡선을 생성하고, 상기 제2 역감마 곡선에 상기 입력 영상 신호를 매핑하여 제2 영상신호를 생성하여, 상기 제2 영상신호를 사용하여, 부하율을 계산하고 계산된 부하율에 따라 유지방전 펄스의 수를 산출하여 출력하도록 제어하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 제어부는,어드레스 소비전력이 높은 데이터 인지를 한 프레임의 영상신호 데이터 중에서 같은 칼럼의 인접하는 상하 라인의 서브필드 데이터를 이용하여 판단하는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
- 제5항 또는 제6항에 있어서,상기 감마 게인은 1 보다 작은 값을 가지는 플라즈마 표시 장치.
