Abstract

본 발명에는 휴대용 통신 단말기가 개시된다. 개시된 휴대용 통신 단말기는 휴대용 통신 단말기에 있어서, 카메라부; 다수 개의 키들을 구비하고, 상기 카메라부에 제1힌지부에 의해 제1힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되며, 그립부로 사용가능한 본체부; 및 표시 장치를 구비하고, 상기 카메라부에 제2힌지부에 의해 상기 제1힌지축과 평행한 제2힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되고, 상기 제2힌지부에 의해 상기 제2힌지축과 직교하는 제3힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되어 상기 본체와 마주본 상태에서 멀어지는 방향으로 개폐되는 표시부로 구성된다.

Description

멀티미디어용 휴대용 통신 단말기{MOBILE PHONE FOR MULTIMEDIA}

본 발명은 디엠비 폰, 게임 폰, 채팅 폰, 카메라 폰, MP3 폰, 셀룰러 폰(cellular phone), PCS, PDA(Personal Digital Assistants), HHP(Hand Held Phone) 등을 포함하는 휴대 단말기에 관한 것으로서, 특히, 다양한 모드에서 사용하기에 편리한 휴대용 통신 단말기에 관한 것이다.
통상적인 개념의 "휴대용 통신 단말기"라 함은 사용자가 휴대하면서 상대방과 무선 통신을 수행할 수 있는 전자 장치를 의미한다. 이러한 휴대용 통신 단말기 는 휴대성을 고려하여 소형화, 슬림화, 그립화 및 경량화되어가는 추세에 있으며, 보다 다양한 기능을 추구할 수 있는 멀티 미디어화 방향으로 나아가고 있는 추세에 있다. 특히, 점점 추후의 휴대용 단말기는 소형화, 경량화, 다기능, 다목적으로 사용될 것이며, 다양한 멀티 미디어 환경이나 인터넷 환경에 적응되도록 변형될 것이다. 아울러, 휴대용 단말기는 남녀노소, 전세계 어디에서도 통용되는 전자 장치로서, 항시 휴대하고 다녀야 할 필수품으로 인식되어 가고 있는 추세에 있다.
보편화된 종래의 휴대용 통신 단말기는 외관상으로 여러 타입으로 분류된다. 예를 들어, 휴대용 통신 단말기는 외형에 따라서 바-형(bar-type), 플립-형(flip-type) 또는 폴더-형(folder-type) 휴대용 통신 단말기로 분류된다. 바-형 휴대용 통신 단말기는 단일 하우징이 바-형으로 구성된 것을 의미하고, 플립-형 휴대용 통신 단말기는 바-형의 하우징에 힌지장치에 의해 플립이 회전가능하게 구성된 것을 의미하며, 폴더-형 휴대용 통신 단말기는 단일의 바-형 하우징에 폴더가 힌지 장치에 의해 회전가능하게 연결되어 접는 방식으로 구성된 것을 의미한다.
또한, 휴대용 통신 단말기는 신체 착용 위치 또는 착용 방식에 따라서 목걸이-형(neck wearable-type) 또는 손목착용-형(wrist-type)으로 분류되기도 한다. 목걸이-형 휴대용 통신 단말기는 끈을 이용하여 단말기를 목에 착용하는 휴대 방식을 의미하고, 손목착용-형 휴대용 통신 단말기는 손목에 단말기를 착용하는 휴대 방식을 의미한다.
또한, 휴대용 통신 단말기는 개폐 방식에 따라서 회전-형(rotation-type) 또는 슬라이딩-형(sliding-type) 휴대용 통신 단말기로 분류되기도 한다. 회전-형 휴 대용 통신 단말기는 두 개의 하우징이 마주보면서 대면한 상태를 계속 유지한 채 회전가능하게 연결되어 개폐되는 것을 의미하고, 슬라이딩-형 휴대용 통신 단말기는 두 개의 하우징이 길이방향으로 슬라이딩이동으로 개폐되는 것을 의미한다. 상기 열거된 다양하게 분류된 휴대용 통신 단말기는 당해 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진자라면 용이하게 이해할 수 있을 것이다.
아울러, 종래의 휴대용 통신 단말기는 음성 통신 기능 이외에 고속의 데이터를 통신할 수 있는 구조로 변환되고 가고 있다. 즉, 소비자의 욕구가 증대됨에 따라서 고속의 데이터를 전송하는 무선 통신 기술을 이용하여 서비스를 제공할 것이다.
현재에는 종래의 휴대용 통신 단말기에 카메라 렌즈가 채용되어서 영상 신호 등의 전송이 이루어져 가고 있는 추세에 있다. 보편화된 휴대용 통신 단말기는 카메라 렌즈 모듈을 외장형이나 내장형으로 구비하여 상대방과의 영상 통화나 원하는 피사체 촬영 기능을 수행할 수 있게 되었다.
그러나, 종래의 휴대용 통신 단말기는 음성 통화를 위한 폰 모드에서 사용하기에 편리하게 구성되어서, 폰 모드 이외의 특정 모드, 예를 들어 카메라 모드에서는 불편한 문제가 있다. 이는 사용자의 입장에서 촬영 자세나 촬영 앵글 등의 불편함을 의미한다.
또한, 점점 휴대용 통신 단말기가 융합화되어 멀티 미디어화되어 가고 있으며, 이런 추세에 따라서 카메라 모듈이 점점 고해상도 및 고기능화되어가고 있다.
즉, 카메라 모듈이 점점 고해상도화되어감에 모듈 자체의 크기가 커지고 있 으며, 특히 줌인 또는 줌 아웃 기능까지 구비하여, 종래의 휴대용 통신 단말기에 장착된 경우에 본체 소형화에 어렵고, 특히 본체 슬림화에 어려운 문제가 발생되었다. 고화소수 기능, 예를 들어 200백만 또는 300만 이상의 화소수에 줌 기능을 가지는 카메라 렌즈 모듈은 그의 두께가 어느 정도 이상의 필수적으로 실장 공간이 요구되며, 이러한 문제는 카메라 렌즈 모듈 실장성이 저하되고, 휴대용 통신 단말기의 외관도 미려하지 않게 되는 요소이고, 특히 사용자의 입장에서 휴대성이 저하되는 문제를 야기하였다.
따라서, 본 발명의 목적은 음성 통화를 위한 폰 모드나 데이터 입력 모드에서 편리하면서 동시에 카메라 모드와 관련된 모드를, 예를 들어 피사체 촬영 모드, 셀프샷 모드, 동영상 촬영 모드, 또는 이메일 전송 모드, 인터넷 모드 시에도 편리한 휴대용 통신 단말기를 제공함에 있다.
본 발명의 다른 목적은 카메라부가 독립적으로 제작되어 본체에 조립되는 구조로 제공되어짐으로써, 본체 소형화 및 슬림화에 유리한 휴대용 통신 단말기를 제공함에 있다.
본 발명의 다른 목적은 고해상도 및 고기능의 카메라부의 실장성과 조립성을 향상시킨 휴대용 통신 단말기를 제공함에 있다.
본 발명의 또 다른 목적은 고해상도 및 고기능에 필요한 모든 기능을 융합화한 멀티미디어 환경에 구조적으로 적합한 휴대용 통신 단말기를 제공함에 있다.
본 발명의 다른 목적은 카메라부에 본체부와 표시부가 함께 평행하게 연결되어 서로 가깝거나 멀어지는 이중 힌지 회전구조를 제공하여 멀티미디어 환경에 구조적으로 대처할 수 있는 휴대용 통신 단말기를 제공함에 있다.
상기한 목적들을 달성하기 위하여 본 발명은 휴대용 통신 단말기에 있어서,
카메라부;
다수 개의 키들을 구비하고, 상기 카메라부에 제1힌지부에 의해 제1힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되며, 그립부로 사용가능한 본체부; 및
표시 장치를 구비하고, 상기 카메라부에 제2힌지부에 의해 상기 제1힌지축과 평행한 제2힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되고, 상기 제2힌지부에 의해 상기 제2힌지축과 직교하는 제3힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되어 상기 본체와 마주본 상태에서 멀어지는 방향으로 개폐되는 표시부로 구성된다.
이하에서는 첨부도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 바람직한 일 실시 예를 상세히 설명하기로 한다. 본 발명을 설명함에 있어, 관련된 공지기능 혹은 구성에 대한 구체적인 설명은 본 발명의 요지를 모호하지 않게 하기 위하여 생략한다.
도 1 내지 도 4에 도시된 바와 같이, 본 발명에 따른 휴대용 통신 단말기(11)는 카메라부(15)와, 본체부(13)와, 표시부(12)를 포함한다. 상기 본체부(13)는 다수 개의 키들(24,25)로 구성된 키패드(22)를 구비하고, 상기 카메라부(15)에 제1힌지부(23)에 의해 제1힌지축(A1)을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결된다. 상기 표시부 (12)는 일측면에 배치된 주 표시 장치(24)와, 타측면에 배치된 보조 표시 장치(17)를 포함하며, 상기 카메라부(15)에 제2힌지부(21)에 의해 상기 제1힌지축(A1)(hinge axis)과 평행한 제2힌지축(A2)을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되어 상기 본체부(13)에 폴딩 또는 언폴딩된다. 또한, 상기 표시부(12)는 상기 제2힌지부(21)에 의해 상기 제2힌지축(A2)과 직교하는 제3힌지축(A3)(도 5에 보여짐)을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되어 상기 본체부(13)와 마주본 상태에서 멀어지는 방향으로 회전한다. 즉, 상기 표시부(12)는 상기 키들(24,25)이 배열된 본체부(13) 상면을 개폐한다. 상기 주 표시 장치(24)와 상기 보조 표시 장치(17)는 액정 표시 장치로 구성됨이 바람직하다. 아울러, 상기 보조 표시 장치(17)는 자주 확인해야 하는 데이터 정보들, 예를 들어 시간, 전화번호, 안테나 수신 감도, 배터리 잔량을 나타내는 아이콘, 메시지 도착 여부를 나타내는 아이콘 등이 디스플레이된다. 도 1에서 참조 번호 14는 볼륨을 조절하는 볼륨 조절 키를 의미한다.
상기 카메라부(15)는 상기 제1,2힌지부(23,21)를 모두 수용한 상태로 상호 연결되기 위한 한 쌍의 연결 아암(15a,15b)이 구성된다. 상기 한 쌍의 연결 아암(15a,15b) 사이에 상기 제1,2힌지부(23,21)가 수용되어 상기 카메라부(15)에 연결되어짐으로서, 상기 제1,2,3힌지축(A1,A2,A3))을 제공한다. 상기 제1,2힌지부(23,21)는 상기 연결 아암(15a,15b) 사이에 수용된 상태를 유지한 채로, 서로 마주본 상태에서 가깝거나 멀어지는 방향으로 회전한다. 상기 본체부(13)는 상기 제1힌지부(23)에 의해 상기 카메라부(15)에 직접 연결되고, 상기 표시부(12)도 상기 제2힌지부(21)에 의해 상기 카메라부(15)에 직접 연결된다. 참조번호 16a는 장치를 나 타낸다.
상기 제1힌지부(23)는 상기 본체부(13)에 일체형으로 사출성형된 센터 힌지 아암으로 구성되어 상기 카메라부(15)에 미 도시된 힌지 모듈에 의해 연결된다. 또한, 상기 제2힌지부(21)는 상기 표시부(12)에 조립되는 로터리 힌지 아암으로 구성되어 미 도시된 로터리 힌지 모듈에 의해 상기 카메라부(15)에 연결된다.
상기 제1,2힌지부(23,21)에 의해 각각 상기 카메라부(15)에 연결된 상기 본체부(13)와 표시부(12)는 최대 회전량이 상기 카메라부(15)에 제한된다. 상기 본체부(13)와 상기 표시부(12)의 회전량 제한 상태가 도 4에 보여진다.
상기 본체부(13) 상면에는 다수 개의 키들이 구비되는 바, 상기 키들은 숫자키(24), 통화키, 종료키, 네비게이션 키(25)를 포함한다. 상기 카메라부(15)는 일측 에지에 카메라 렌즈(16)가 노출되게 배치되고, 타측 에지에 카메라 작동 키(27)(도 5에 도시됨), 상기 카메라 작동 키(27)와 이웃하게 줌 키(28)(도 5에 도시됨)가 배치된다. 상기 줌 키(27)는 줌 인 또는 줌 아웃 키를 지칭한다.
도 2의 참조번호 18은 상기 본체부(13) 저면에서 착탈되는 배터리 팩을 나타내고, 참조번호 18a는 상기 배터리 팩을 착탈시키는 로킹 노브를 나타낸다.
도 3, 도 4는 폰 모드, 인터넷 모드, 이메일 전송 모드에 사용되는 경우이고, 도 5, 도 6은 카메라 모드과 관련된 모드들, 예를 들어, 피사체 촬영 모드 동영상 촬영 모드, 화상 통화 모드, 셀프샷 모드 등으로 사용되는 경우를 나타낸다.
도 5, 도 6과 같은 상기 표시부(12)가 상기 제2힌지축(A2)을 중심으로 약 90도 정도 회전하고, 이어서 상기 제3힌지축(A3)을 중심으로 90도 정도 회전된 상태 에서, 사용자는 원하는 피사체를 카메라 렌즈(16)가 향하게 하여 포커싱을 하고, 촬영된 데이터가 디스플레이되는 주 표시 장치(24)를 주시하면서 사용하게 된다. 물론, 도 5와 같은 상태에서는 상기 본체부(13)는 그립부로 사용된다.
이상으로 살펴본 바와 같이, 본 발명은 고해상도 및 고기능의 멀티디미어 환경에 적극적으로 대처할 수 있게 되었고, 특히 음성통화 모드 뿐만 아니라, 카메라와 관련된 모드들, 이메일 전송 모드 또는 인터넷 모드에서도 사용하기에 편리해진 이점을 달성하였다. 또한, 본 발명은 높은 화소수의 고해상도 및 고기능의 카메라부가 독립적으로 제작되어 본체부에 조립되는 구조로 이루어짐으로서, 본체 소형화 및 슬림화에 유리해지고, 카메라부의 실장성과 조립성이 향상되는 이점을 달성하였다. 본 발명의 상세한 설명에서는 구체적인 실시 예에 관해서 설명하였으나, 본 발명의 범위에서 벗어나지 않는 한도내에서 여러 가지 변형이 가능함을 당해 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게 있어서 자명하다 할 것이다.

Claims (8)

  1. 휴대용 통신 단말기에 있어서,
    카메라부;
    다수 개의 키들을 구비하고, 상기 카메라부에 제1힌지부에 의해 제1힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되며, 그립부로 사용가능한 본체부; 및
    표시 장치를 구비하고, 상기 카메라부에 제2힌지부에 의해 상기 제1힌지축과 평행한 제2힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되고, 상기 제2힌지부에 의해 상기 제2힌지축과 직교하는 제3힌지축을 중심으로 회전가능하게 연결되어 상기 본체와 마주본 상태에서 멀어지는 방향으로 개폐되는 표시부로 구성되고,
    상기 카메라부는 독립적으로 제작되어 본체부에 조립되고, 상기 제1,2힌지부를 모두 수용하여 상호 연결되기 위한 한 쌍의 연결 아암을 구비함을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 통신 단말기.

  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 카메라부는 일측 에지에 카메라 렌즈가 배치되고, 타측 에지에 카메라 작동 키와, 줌 키가 배치되어짐을 특징으로 하는 휴대용 통신 단말기.
