Abstract
Description
백라이트 점등전까지 충분한 액정반응 시간이 주어지지 않지만, 제 2주사신호(S42)를 인가함으로써, 액정의 반응속도를 촉진시켜 원하는 액정분자 배열상태에 도달하게 할 수 있다. 도면에서는 투과율 100%에 도달하지 못했지만, 주사신호의 인가횟수를 늘려서 충분히 조절가능하다.
또한, 조기에 원하는 투과율에 이르도록 함으로써, 화면의 상하영역에서 주사신호가 인가되는 시점의 차이에 의한 휘도 불균형을 개선할 수 있다.
Claims (6)
- 서로 대향하여 합착된 제 1,2기판이 합착되고, 상기 제 1기판 상에 복수의 게이트라인과 복수의 데이터라인이 종횡으로 배열된 액정패널과, 상기 액정패널에 적색, 녹색 및 청색광을 선택적으로 공급하는 각각의 백라이트를 구비하는 시-분할컬러 방식 액정표시장치에 있어서, 1/3 프레임동안 게이트라인 단위로 주사신호를 조작하여 순차적으로 인가하는 단계와; 상기 주사신호에 따라 액정분자의 반응속도가 변화하는 단계와; 적(R), 녹(G), 청(B) 백라이트 중 어느 하나가 선택적으로 점등하는 단계와; 적색, 녹색 또는 청색광이 액정분자 배열을 통과하여 화상으로 표시되는 단계를 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 1/3프레임동안 상기 주사신호를 동일한 게이트라인에 적어도 2회 이상 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 주사신호를 동일한 게이트라인에 일정한 주기로 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 주사신호를 동일한 게이트라인에 적어도 2회 이상 인가할 때, 서로 다른 주기로 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 게이트라인에 주사신호를 인가하는 시간을 줄이거나 증가시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 각 1/3프레임에서 상기 백라이트가 점등하기 전에 주사신호를 인가하여 액정층의 투과율을 높이는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
