- 복수 개의 스캔 전극 및 상기 스캔 전극의 각각에 대응되는 복수 개의 유지 전극을 가지며, 상기 스캔 전극과 직교하는 복수 개의 어드레스 전극을 가지며 상기 스캔 전극과 상기 어드레스 전극이 직교하는 각각의 지점에 형성되는 복수 개의 방전 셀을 포함하는 교류형 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널에 소정의 화상 정보를 표시하기 위한 교류형 플라즈마 디스플레이의 구동 방법에 있어서,상기 화상 정보의 1 프레임은 조합에 의하여 계조를 구현하기 위한 하나 이상의 서브 필드로 분할되며, 상기 서브 필드 각각은 하나 이상의 구동 단위(T)로 분할되고, 상기 구동 단위(T)의 각각은 시간적으로 분리된 기입 기간, 유지 기간 및 소거 기간을 포함하며,상기 서브 필드를 구성하는 구동 단위(T) 중 최초의 것의 상기 기입 기간 중에, 해당 서브 필드에 대한 데이터를 기입하는 단계; 및상기 서브 필드를 구성하는 구동 단위(T) 중 최후의 것의 상기 소거 기간 중에, 해당 서브 필드에 대한 데이터를 소거하는 단계를 포함하며,상기 서브 필드 중 최소 시간 길이를 갖는 서브 필드로 구현할 수 있는 것 이하의 저 계조를 구현하기 위하여, 상기 서브 필드를 구성하는 상기 구동 단위(T)의 상기 유지 기간을 분할하고, 그 사이에 하나 이상의 제2 기입 기간을 삽입한 것을 특징으로 하는플라즈마 디스플레이의 구동 방법.
