Abstract

본 발명은 보행자 보호를 위한 자동차용 범퍼에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 범퍼 커버의 안쪽 하부에 보행자와의 충돌 시 서서히 변형되는 하니콤 구조의 보강재를 설치하여 보행자의 상해치를 최소화 할 수 있는 보행자 보호를 위한 자동차용 범퍼에 관한 것이다.
본 발명은, 범퍼 커버(1)의 내측에 위치된 에너지 업소버(2)와, 상기 에너지 업서버(2)를 지지하는 백빔(3)을 구비하는 자동차의 범퍼에 있어서, 상기 커버(1)의 안쪽 하부에는 보강재(110)가 설치되는 데, 상기 보강재(110)는 하니콤(벌집) 구조로 이루어진다.

Description

보행자 보호를 위한 자동차용 범퍼{Vehicle bumper for protecting pedestrian}
본 발명은 보행자 보호를 위한 자동차용 범퍼에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 범퍼 커버의 안쪽 하부에 보행자와의 충돌 시 서서히 변형되는 하니콤 구조의 보강재를 설치하여 보행자의 상해치를 최소화 할 수 있는 보행자 보호를 위한 자동차용 범퍼에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 자동차의 차체는 정면 및 측면 그리고 오프셋 충돌 시 차실 내에 탑승한 승객의 안전을 도모하기 위해 구조적인 강성을 점진적으로 강화되고 있는 추세인 바, 이와 같은 경향은 전적으로 차량에 탑승한 승객의 보호하기 위한 것이다.
차체가 보다 더 강화되는 경우에 있어서 주행 중인 차량과 보행자 사이의 충돌사고가 발생하면, 보행자가 입게 되는 상해치는 차체가 강화되는 만큼 더욱 더 증가한다.
근래에 들어서는 자동차의 차체에 대한 구조적인 강성의 보완과는 별도로, 주행 중인 차량과 보행자의 충돌사고 시 보행자의 안전을 도모하기 위한 법규가 더욱 강화되고 있는 실정이다.
이러한 일 예의 하나로, 범퍼의 구조를 개량하여 충돌사고 시 보행자의 안전을 도모하고자 하는 기술이 활발하게 연구되고 있다.
참고적으로, 범퍼는 충격흡수방식에 따라 고 충격성 타입의 5마일 범퍼와, 저 충격성 타입의 2.5마일 범퍼로 나눌 수 있다.
5마일 범퍼는 큰 충격에너지를 흡수해야 하는 복잡한 구조로 이루어져 있는 바, 이는 다시 에너지 흡수 폼내장 방식과, 하니콤 방식, 쇽업서버 방식 등으로 나뉜다. 그리고 2.5마일 범퍼는 시속 40㎞ 정도의 보다 작은 충격에 대응하는 구조로 이루어져 있다.
도 1은 일반적인 자동차 외관을 보인 사시도이고, 도 2는 도 1의 A-A선 단면도로서, 종래 범퍼가 보행자 보호 법규치를 만족하고 있는 지에 대한 실차 실험 상태를 보인 도면이다.
통상적으로 범퍼(10)의 구성은, 범퍼 커버(1)의 내측에 에너지 업소버(2)가 위치되며, 상기 에너지 업서버(2)는 백빔(3)에 의해 지지되어 있다.
또한, 엔진룸 안에는 냉각수를 냉각시키는 라디에이터(4)가 설치되는 데, 이 라디에이터(4)는 라디에이터 로워 멤버(5)에 의해 지지되어 있다.
실제 자동차가 주행 중에 보행자와 부딪힐 경우 그 상해치를 측정하기 위하여 제품 출시 전에, 레그 폼(20)을 이용하여 실차 실험을 하고 있는 데, 실차 실험에서 보행자의 다리에 해당하는 레그 폼(20)의 굽힘 각도가 크면 클수록 보행자에게 큰 상해를 준다는 것을 알 수 있다.
종래의 범퍼의 경우 시속 40㎞ 로 자동차가 레그 폼에 부딪혔을 때, 레그 폼(무릎부위)의 굽힘 각도(파선으로 보임), 다시 말하면 가속도가 법규 규제치(150g) 보다 높게 나타나 보행자에게 큰 상해를 주고 있다.
종래 범퍼의 경우 가속도가 법규치 보다 높게 나타나는 이유는, 범퍼 커버의 안쪽 하부에, 레그 폼 하부(TIBIA COG)를 서서히 지지하여 레그 폼의 굽힘 각도를 줄일 수 있는 별도의 부재가 없었기 때문이다.
따라서, 충돌 시 레그 폼 하부를 지지하고 서서히 뒤로 밀리면서 변형되어 레그 폼의 굽힘 각도를 줄여 보행자의 상해치를 최소화 할 수 있도록 범퍼 커버 하부쪽에 보강재를 설치할 필요성이 대두되었다.
본 발명은 상기한 문제점 해결하기 위하여 발명한 것으로서, 그 목적은 범퍼 커버의 안쪽 하부에 보행자와의 충돌 시 서서히 변형되는 하니콤 구조의 보강재를 설치하여 보행자의 상해치를 줄일 수 있는 보행자 보호를 위한 자동차의 범퍼를 제공함에 있다.
상기 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명의 특징적인 구성을 설명하면 다음과 같다.
본 발명은, 범퍼 커버의 내측에 위치된 에너지 업소버와, 상기 에너지 업서버를 지지하는 백빔을 구비하는 자동차의 범퍼에 있어서, 상기 커버의 안쪽 하부에는 보강재가 설치된다.
상기 보강재는 마운팅 브래킷에 의해서 라디에이터 로워 멤버에 착탈 가능하게 설치되고, 상기 보강재는 하니콤(벌집) 구조로 이루어진다.
이하, 첨부도면을 참조하여, 이와 같이 구성된 본 발명을 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
도 3은 본 발명의 자동차용 범퍼의 종단면도이고, 도 4는 본 발명의 보강재를 보인 부분 확대 사시도이다.
도 3 및 도 4에 보인 바와 같이, 본 발명의 범퍼(10)는, 범퍼 커버(1) 내측에 에너지 업소버(2)가 위치되고, 상기 에너지 업서버(2)를 백빔(3)이 지지하고 있다. 또한 엔진룸 안에는 냉각수를 냉각시키는 라디에이터(4)가 설치되는 데, 이 라디에이터(4)는 라디에이터 로워 멤버(5)에 의해 지지되어 있다.
상기 커버(1)의 안쪽 하부에 보강재(110)가 설치되는 데, 상기 보강재(110)는 마운팅 브래킷(111)에 의해서 라디에이터 로워 멤버(5)에 착탈 가능하게 볼트(112) 결합된다.
도 4를 참조하여, 상기 보강재(110)의 형상을 살펴보면, 원형 모양의 관통 구멍이 일정 간격으로 배열된 대략의 하니콤(벌집) 구조로 그 중간에서 양측으로 갈수록 폭이 좁아지는 판상으로 이루어진다.
이와 같이 구성된 본 발명에서는, 도 3에 보인 바와 같이, 자동차가 소정 속도로 레그 폼(20)에 부딪치면, 보강재(110)가 하니콤 구조로 이루어져 있기 때문에, 보강재(110)는 레그 폼(20)의 하부(보행자의 무릎 하부)를 지지함과 동시에 서서히 속도를 줄여 변형된다.
또한 "T"방향 밀림이 없을 때(충격이 가해지는 방향) 압착된 보강재(110)는 반발력에 의해서 레그 폼(20) 하부(보행자 무릎 하부)를 탄성 복원시켜 주어 결과적으로 레그 폼(20)의 굽힘 각도를 줄여주는 것이다. 즉, 보행자의 무릎의 굽힘 각도를 줄여 상해치를 최소화할 수 있는 것이다.
이상에서와 같이, 실차 실험결과, 보강재(110)는 레그 폼(20)의 하부를 지지한 상태에서 서서히 변형되어 레그 폼(20)의 가속도를 낮추고 "T"방향 밀림이 없어지는 시점에서, 탄성 복원력으로 레그 폼(20)의 굽힘 각도를 다시 줄여 줌으로써 보행자의 상해치를 최소화시킬 수 있는 것이다.
이와 같은 본 발명에 의하면, 범퍼 커버의 안쪽 하부에 보행자와의 충돌 시 서서히 변형되는 하니콤 구조의 보강재를 설치하여 보행자의 상해치를 최소화할 수 있는 것이다.

  1. 범퍼 커버(1)의 내측에 위치된 에너지 업소버(2)와, 상기 에너지 업소버(2)를 지지하는 백빔(3)을 구비하는 자동차의 범퍼에 있어서,
    상기 커버(1)의 안쪽 하부에는 보강재(110)가 마운팅 브래킷(111)에 의해서 라디에이터 로워 멤버(5)에 착탈 가능하게 설치되고, 상기 보강재(110)는 원형 모양의 관통 구멍이 일정 간격으로 배열된 구조로 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 보행자 보호를 위한 자동차용 범퍼.
