Abstract

본 발명은 이동통신 단말기에서 서로 다른 주파수 모드(DCN/PCS)에 대해 단말기의 수신감도 및 비흡수율(SAR) 등을 동시에 향상시키는 기술에 관한 것이다. 이러한 본 발명은, DCN용 안테나정합기(201A)와 PCS용 안테나정합기(201B)가 선택적으로 구동되어 DCN 모드의 신호 또는 PCS 모드의 신호를 정합하는 안테나 정합부(201)와; 상기 안테나 정합부(201)를 통해 수신되는 신호를 DCN용 듀플렉서(203A)와 PCS용 듀플렉서(203B)측으로 분리하여 출력하고, 그 듀플렉서(203A),(203B)를 통해 송출되는 신호를 상기 DCN용 안테나정합기(201A)와 PCS용 안테나정합기(201B)에 전달하기 위한 분리기(202)와; 엠에스엠(208)의 제어에 따라 상기 정합부(201)에 안테나정합기 선택신호를 출력하는 밴드선택부(213)에 의해 달성된다

Description

이동통신 단말기의 안테나 매칭회로{ANTENNA MATCHING CIRCUIT FOR MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT}
본 발명은 이동통신 단말기의 안테나 매칭 기술에 관한 것으로, 특히 서로 다른 주파수 모드(DCN/PCS)에 대해 단말기의 수신감도 및 비흡수율(SAR) 등을 동시에 향상시킬 수 있도록 한 이동통신 단말기의 안테나 매칭회로에 관한 것이다.
종래 이동통신 단말기에서의 안테나 매칭 기술을 도 1을 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다.
안테나(ANT)를 통해 수신되는 신호가 안테나정합기(101)를 통해 분리기(102)에 전달되고, 여기서 모드별(DCN/PCS)로 분리된다. 상기 분리된 신호 중 DCN 모드의 신호(800MHz)는 DCN용 듀플렉서(103A)를 통해 저잡음 증폭기(104A)에 인가되고, PCS 모드의 신호(1.9∼2GHz)는 PCS용 듀플렉서(103B)를 통해 저잡음 증폭기(104B)에 인가된다.
이때, 밴드선택부(113)는 엠에스엠(MSM: Mobile Station Modem)(109)의 제어하에 상기 저잡음 증폭기(104A),(104B)에 선택신호(SEL_DCN),(SEL_PCS)를 출력하여 그 중에서 하나의 저잡음 증폭기를 선택하게 된다.
예를 들어, 현재 입력신호가 DCN모드의 신호인 경우 상기 선택신호(SEL_DCN),(SEL_PCS)에 의해 상기 저잡음 증폭기(104A)가 선택된다. 따라서, 상기 저잡음 증폭기(104A)를 통해 신호가 출력되고, 이는 수신용 탄성표면파필터(105A)를 통해 혼합기(106A)에 전달되어 국부발진신호와 혼합된다. 상기혼합기(106A)에서 출력되는 기저대역의 신호가 저잡음증폭기(107A)를 통해 아이에프알(IFR)(108)에 전달되어 디지털 신호로 변환된 후 엠에스엠(109)측으로 출력된다.
한편, 상기 엠에스엠(109)에서 송출되는 디지털 신호는 알에프티(RFT)(110)를 통해 아날로그 신호로 변환된 후 한편으로는 송신용 탄성표면파필터(111A), 파워증폭기(112A), DCN용 듀플렉서(103A)를 통해 상기 분리기(102)에 전달되고, 다른 한편으로는 송신용 탄성표면파필터(111B), 파워증폭기(112B), PCS용 듀플렉서(103B)를 통해 그 분리기(102)에 전달된다.
이에 따라, 상기 분리기(102)는 상기 DCN용 듀플렉서(103A) 또는 DCN용 듀플렉서(103B)를 통해 입력되는 신호를 상기 안테나정합기(101)측으로 출력하게 된다.
이와 같이 종래의 이동통신 단말기에 있어서는 두 가지 모드(DCN/PCS)의 출력주파수에 대해 단지 하나의 안테나정합기를 사용하였다. 따라서, 절충된 매칭값을 사용하게 되므로 1.9GHz 대역과 800MHz 대역에서 주파수에 적당한 매칭값을 찾는데 어려움이 있고, 이로 인하여 DCN, PCS 양쪽 모두의 수신감도가 떨어지게 되는 결함이 있었다. 또한, DCN, PCS 중 어느 하나의 비흡수율(SAR)은 개선할 수 있지만 다른 하나의 SAR은 개선할 수 없게 되는 등의 문제점이 있었다.
따라서, 본 발명의 목적은 DCN 모드와 PCS 모드에 대해 각각의 안테나정합기를 구비하여, 안테나 매칭값 이전의 주파수 모드별 경로를 선택해서 서로 다른 경로에 매칭시키는 이동통신 단말기의 안테나 매칭회로를 제공함에 있다.

도 2는 본 발명에 의한 이동통신 단말기의 안테나 매칭회로의 일실시 구현예를 보인 블록도로서 이에 도시한 바와 같이, DCN용 안테나정합기(201A)와 PCS용 안테나정합기(201B)가 각기 핀다이오드(PD1),(PD2)를 통해 안테나(ANT)에 접속되고 입력되는 선택신호(SEL_DCN),(SEL_PCS)에 따라 DCN 모드의 신호 또는 PCS 모드의 신호를 정합하는 안테나정합부(201)와; 상기 안테나정합부(201)를 통해 수신되는 신호를 DCN용 듀플렉서(203A)와 PCS용 듀플렉서(203B)측으로 분리하여 출력하고, 그 듀플렉서(203A),(203B)를 통해 송출되는 신호를 상기 DCN용 안테나정합기(201A)와 PCS용 안테나정합기(201B)에 전달하기 위한 분리기(202)와; 상기 안테나정합기(201A),(201B)에서 각기 출력되는 신호를 증폭하는 저잡음 증폭기(204A),(204B)와; 상기 저잡음 증폭기(204A),(204B)의 출력신호를 각기 필터링하는 수신용 탄성표면파필터(205A),(205B)와; 상기 수신용 탄성표면파필터(205A),(205B)에서 출력되는 신호를 기저대역의 신호로 변환하기 위한 혼합기(216A),(216B)와; 상기 혼합기(216A),(216B)에서 출력되는 기저대역의 신호를 증폭하는 저잡음증폭기(207A),(207B)와; 상기 저잡음증폭기(207A),(207B)에서 출력되는 아날로그 신호를 디지털신호로 변환하여 엠에스엠(209)측으로 출력하는 아이에프알(208)과; 시스템 각부를 총괄 제어하는 엠에스엠(208)과; 상기 엠에스엠(208)의 제어에 따라 상기 정합부(201) 및 저잡음증폭기(204A),(204B)에 선택신호(SEL_DCN),(SEL_PCS)를 출력하는 밴드선택부(213)와; 상기 엠에스엠(209)에서 출력되는 디지털신호를 아날로그신호로 변환하는 알에프티(210)와; 상기 알에프티(210)에서 출력되는 아날로그 신호를 필터링하는 송신용 탄성표면파필터(211A),(211B)와; 상기 송신용 탄성표면파필터(211A),(211B)에서 출력되는 신호를 전력증폭하여 상기 듀플렉서(203A),(203B)에 출력하는 파워증폭기(212A),(212B)로 구성한 것으로, 이와 같은 본 발명의 작용을 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
안테나정합부(201)에는 DCN용 안테나정합기(201A)와 PCS용 안테나정합기(201B)가 각기 마련되어 있는데, 이들은 캐소우드가 공통 접속된 각각의 핀다이오드(PD1),(PD2)를 통해 안테나(ANT)에 연결되어 있다. 또한, 상기 핀다이오드(PD1),(PD2)는 밴드선택부(213)에서 출력되는 선택신호(SEL_DCN),(SEL_PCS)에 의해 감쇠작용이 선택적으로 이루어진다.
따라서, 상기 안테나(ANT)를 통해 입력되는 신호에 대응하여 DCN용 안테나정합기(201A) 또는 PCS용 안테나정합기(201B)를 선택해서 입력신호의 모드에 따라 정확하게 정합시킬 수 있게 된다.
예를 들어, 상기 안테나(ANT)를 통해 DCN 모드의 신호(800MHz)가 입력되는 경우 상기 선택신호(SEL_DCN),(SEL_PCS)로 상기 DCN용 안테나정합기(201A)를 선택하게 된다. 이에 따라, 상기 안테나(ANT)를 통해 수신되는 신호가 안테나정합기(201A), 분리기(202), DCN용 듀플렉서(203A)를 순차적으로 통해 저잡음 증폭기(204A)에 전달되는데, 이 저잡음 증폭기(204A) 또한 상기 선택신호(SEL_DCN)에 의해 인에이블 상태에 있게 된다.
따라서, 상기 저잡음 증폭기(204A)에서 출력되는 DCN모드의 신호가 수신용탄성표면파필터(205A)를 통해 혼합기(206A)에 전달되어 국부발진신호와 혼합된다. 상기 혼합기(206A)에서 변환된 기저대역의 신호는 저잡음증폭기(207A)를 통해 아이에프알(208)에 전달되어 디지털 신호로 변환된 후 엠에스엠(209)측으로 출력된다.
한편, 상기 엠에스엠(209)에서 송출되는 디지털 신호는 알에프티(210)를 통해 아날로그 신호로 변환된 후 한편으로는 송신용 탄성표면파필터(211A), 파워증폭기(212A), DCN용 듀플렉서(203A)를 통해 상기 분리기(202)에 전달되고, 다른 한편으로는 송신용 탄성표면파필터(211B), 파워증폭기(212B), PCS용 듀플렉서(203B)를 통해 그 분리기(202)에 전달된다.
이에 따라, 상기 분리기(202)는 상기 DCN용 듀플렉서(203A) 또는 PCS용 듀플렉서(203B)를 통해 입력되는 신호를 상기 안테나정합기(201)측으로 출력하게 된다.
이상에서 상세히 설명한 바와 같이 본 발명은, DCN 모드와 PCS 모드에 대해 각각의 안테나정합기를 구비하여, 안테나 매칭값 이전의 주파수 모드별 경로를 선택해서 서로 다른 경로에 정확하게 매칭시켜 줌으로써, 입력신호의 모드(DC/PCS)에 관계없이 항상 일정치 이상의 수신감도를 유지할 수 있는 효과가 있다. 또한, SAR 특성을 변경할 때, 변경하고자 하는 모드만을 측정하므로 시간이 단축되고 필드 문제점에 신속하게 대처할 수 있는 효과가 있다.

Claims (2)

  1. DCN용 안테나정합기(201A)와 PCS용 안테나정합기(201B)를 별도로 설치하고, 이들이 선택적으로 구동되어 DCN 모드의 신호 또는 PCS 모드의 신호를 정합하도록 하는 안테나정합부(201)와; 상기 안테나정합부(201)를 통해 수신되는 신호를 DCN용 듀플렉서(203A)와 PCS용 듀플렉서(203B)측으로 분리하여 출력하고, 이들을 통해 송출되는 신호를 상기 안테나정합기(201A),(201B)에 전달하기 위한 분리기(202)와; 엠에스엠(208)의 제어에 따라 상기 정합부(201)에 안테나정합기 선택신호를 출력하는 밴드선택부(213)를 포함하여 구성한 것을 특징으로 하는 이동통신 단말기의 안테나 매칭회로.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 안테나정합부(201)는 DCN용 안테나정합기(201A)와 PCS용 안테나정합기(201B)가 각기 핀다이오드(PD1),(PD2)를 통해 안테나(ANT)에 접속되고, 이 핀다이오드(PD1),(PD2)가 상기 선택신호에 의해 제어되도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 이동통신 단말기의 안테나 매칭회로.
