Claims (6)
- 하부기판, 하부전극층, 강유전성 액정층, 상부전극층 및 상부 기판이 순차적으로 마련되어 있고, 상기 하부 전극층 하부에 마련되어 하부 전극층에 전기적 신호를 인가하는 화소단위의 단위회로가 메트릭스상으로 다수 어레이 집적된 VLSI구동칩, 상기 상부전극층과 상기 VLSI구동칩을 구동하는 구동드라이브가 구비된 강유전성 액정 표시장치에 있어서,상기 단위회로는상기 액정층의 표시정보에 대응하는 데이터가 기입되는 기억소자와;상기 구동드라이브로부터 입력되는 제1제어신호인가 구간동안만 상기 기억소자의 데이터를 출력하는 논리곱소자;상기 논리곱소자의 출력신호와 상기 구동드라이브로부터 입력되는 제2제어신호에 따라 논리연산하여 상기 하부 전극층에 출력하는 배타적 논리합 소자;를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 강유전성 액정 표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기억소자는 SRAM인 것을 특징으로 하는 강유전성 액정 표시장치.
- 제 1항의 액정 표시 소자를 구동시키기 위한 방법으로서,상기 기억소자로부터 출력되는 하나의 데이터 값에 대해 설정된, 표시 구간, 홀딩 구간 및 해제 구간을 포함하는 표시 기간 동안 액정층에 전계를 인가시키는 단계를 구비하되,상기 전계 인가 단계는;상기 제 1 제어 신호를 온시켜 상기 데이터의 표시 정보에 대응되는 전계를 상기 액정층에 인가하는 표시 구간 단계와;상기 액정층에 인가된 전계를 영 전위로 유지시키는 홀딩 구간 단계와;상기 액정층에 영 전위를 기준으로 소정의 전압 레벨을 상하 스위칭시켜 그 평균합이 0이 되도록 인가하는 해제 구간 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 강유전성 액정 표시 소자의 구동 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 표시기간에 대해 상기 홀딩기간의 유지시간을 조절하여 계조를 표시하는 것을 특징으로 하는 강유전성 액정표시소자의 구동방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 홀딩구간과 상기 해제구간에서 상기 구동드라이버로부터 다음 표시될 데이터를 상기 기억소자에 기입하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자의 구동방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 표시구간동안 상기 액정층에 인가되는 전위의 평균이 0전위가 되도록 상기 제2제어신호와 상기 상부전극층에 인가하는 구동신호를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자의 구동방법.
