Claims (4)
- M 개의 계조가 표시되는 하나의 화상 프레임을 N 개의 서브필드로 구성된 제1필드 및 제2필드의 주사 신호로 형성하는 경우, 상기 제1필드 주사 신호의 방전 유지 펄스들을 그대로 상기 제2필드 주사 신호의 방전 유지 펄스들로 이용하는 가스 방전 표시 소자의 구동 방법에 있어서,상기 제1필드 주사 신호의 방전 유지 기간들은 N-1 개의 서브필드의 방전 유지 기간 및 최소의 방전 유지 펄스를 가진 1 번째 서브필드의 방전 유지 펄스의 갯수와 같은 수의 방전 유지 펄스로 이루어진 N번째 방전 유지 기간으로 구성하되, 상기 N번째 방전 유지 기간은 상기 N번째 서브필드의 어드레싱 기간 바로 다음에 두는 단계; 및상기 제2필드 주사 신호의 방전 유지 기간들은 각각 상기 제1필드 주사 신호의 방전 유지 기간들과 동일한 수 및 동일한 순서로 방전 유지 펄스들을 두는 단계;를포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 방전 표시 소자의 구동 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 갯수 M 및 N 사이에는 M=2N의 관계가 성립하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 방전 표시 소자의 구동 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제2필드 주사 신호의 N번째 방전 유지 기간 바로 앞의 휴지 기간에 지우기 펄스를 인가하여 상기 제2필드 주사 신호의 N번째 방전 유지 기간의 방전 유지 펄스들을 무효화시키는 단계;를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 방전 표시 소자의 구동 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 지우기 펄스는 상기 휴지 기간의 중간에 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 방전 표시 소자의 구동 방법.
