Claims (8)
- 제1 및 제2기판과, 상기 제1기판 위에 형성되어 복수의 단위화소영역을 정의하는 복수의 데이터배선 및 게이트배선과, 상기 데이터배선 및 게이트배선의 교차점에 형성된 박막트랜지스터와, 상기 제1 및 제2기판 사이의 액정분자와, 상기 액정분자를 구동시키는 복수의 데이터전극 및 공통전극 등으로 이루어진 액정표시소자에 있어서,상기 액정분자가 데이터전극과 그 연장선, 또는 공통전극의 연장선과 이루는 각의 이등분선을 따라 배향되고, 상기 데이터전극, 공통전극 및 각각의 연장선에 의해 분할된 복수의 영역내에서 서로 다른 구동방향을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합전계방식 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 데이터전극 및 공통전극의 연장선이 빗살무늬형상을 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합전계방식 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 복수의 영역 중 두 영역의 크기가 같은 것을 특징으로 하는 복합전계방식 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제2기판위에 상기 데이터전극 및 공통전극과 대향하는 전극을 추가로 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 복합전계방식 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 데이터전극을 상기 박막트랜지스터에 연결하는 금속배선과 상기 공통전극을 연결하는 공통배선에 의해 축적용량을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합전계방식 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정분자의 배향이 러빙법에 의해 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합전계방식 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정분자의 배향이 광배향법에 의해 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합전계방식 액정표시소자.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 광배향법이 PVCN(polyvinylcinnamate)계 물질 또는 폴리실록산(polysiloxane)계 물질을 이용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 복합전계방식 액정표시소자.
