Claims (11)
- 차량용 팽창식 관형 볼스터로서,(a) 제 1 및 제 2 단부를 갖고 상기 차량의 대시보드 아래에 위치되는 연속 고강도 섬유로 이루어진 팽창식 편조 튜브와,(b) 상기 편조 튜브의 제 1 단부를 상기 차량의 구조물에 부착 수단을 통해 연결하는 제 1 끈 부품과,(c) 상기 편조 튜브의 제 2 단부를 상기 차량의 구조물에 부착 수단을 통해 연결하는 제 2 끈 부품과,(d) 가스관을 통해 유체 연통 가능하게 상기 편조 튜브에 연결되는 가스 발생기와, 그리고(e) 충돌이 탐지되었을 때 상기 가스 발생기가 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브를 팽창시키도록, 상기 가스 발생기에 연결되어 있는 다수의 충돌 센서를 포함하고,상기 팽창식 편조 튜브가 팽창함에 따라 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브는 적하된 위치로부터 아래로 빠져나와 탑승자의 전방 및 하방 이동을 구속하는 것을 특징으로 하는 팽창식 관형 볼스터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 연속 고강도 섬유는 팽창하기 전에 스파이럴을 형성하고, 상기 가스 발생기에 의한 팽창시 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브의 직경이 증가하며 길이가 상당히 감소하는 것을 특징으로 하는 팽창식 관형 볼스터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브가 내부 라이너를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 팽창식 관형 볼스터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브의 팽창시 상기 부착 수단에 높은 장력이 발생하는 것을 특징으로 하는 팽창식 관형 볼스터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브가 다양한 직경으로 팽창할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 팽창식 관형 볼스터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 충돌시 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브가 탑승자의 무릎 전방에서 전개되어 상기 탑승자의 전방 및 하방 이동을 억제하는 것을 특징으로 하는 팽창식 관형 볼스터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 끈 부품이 도어에 인접한 차량 구조물에 부착되고 상기 제 2 끈 부품은 한 명의 탑승자용일 때는 중앙 터널에, 그리고 다수의 탑승자용일 때는 차량의 다른 쪽 측면에 부착되는 것을 특징으로 하는 팽창식 관형 볼스터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브가 적하 위치에 있을 때는 편평하고 시야에서 감추어져 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 팽창식 관형 볼스터.
- 차량 탑승자를 보호하기 위한 방법으로서,(a) 섬유 교차점에서 서로에 대해 교차하는 스파이럴을 형성하는 연속 섬유로 구성되어 있으며 상기 섬유 교차점에서 종방향 예각을 형성하는 팽창식 편조 튜브의 제 1 단부에 제 1 소형 끈을 부착하는 단계와,(b) 상기 제 1 소형 끈을 상기 차량에 고정하는 단계와,(c) 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브의 제 2 단부에 제 2 소형 끈을 부착하는 단계와,(d) 상기 제 2 소형 끈을 상기 차량에 고정하는 단계와,(e) 충돌을 탐지하는 단계와, 그리고(f) 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브에 유체 연통 가능하게 연결되어 있는 가스 발생기를 점화하는 단계를 포함하고,상기 팽창식 편조 튜브가 차량의 대시보드 아래에 압축되어 적하되어 있고 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브의 팽창시에 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브는 적하된 위치로부터 빠져나와 탑승자의 전방 및 하방 이동을 구속하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브의 팽창시에 높은 장력이 상기 고정점에 발생하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 팽창식 편조 튜브가 다양한 직경으로 팽창할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
